Hi all, Just moved to octopus cozy and would like to take advantage of the lower tarriff rates to top up my battery which does not quite make it through a 24 hr period when there is little solar energy. My inverter only allows me to add one timed charge a day. Smart tarriff window offers ' tarriff automations' where it says ' Selecting an option from the list below will modify the settings on your inverter to charge and discharge your battery in the most cost-effective way. ' But, it does not provide me with any options to do this. Any advice?
Any way to charge battery more than once with 1st gen Giv AC 3.0
Use a 3rd party app with more slots
Wonderwatt
Octopus R&D labs scheduler
Home Assistant (add Predbat for auto scheduling)
Predbat on the web (save going down the Home Assistant rabbit hole - though I love it)
You can use the quick settings in the app to force charge, the little plus icon
artisaway I've never used the tariff automation card as I used predbat in Home Assistant for Cosy with my Gen 1's, but I think you have to setup your tariff information in the portal, linking to your Octopus account first
Keithwright Thanks. This sounds a quick and simple option, but I m not seeing the plus symbol on the app. From the home dashboard i have the cog at the top right. Where do i find the plus symbol or an option to navigate to the force charge?
SteveCook Thanks for the reply. I tried Octopus R and D site and found it fairly unfathomable... may try one of the other options though.
geoffreycoan yeh, the tarriff is already set up with my octopus account. But still no joy
This might be another option to consider if you have an android device (that you can leave at home, so not your main phone).
artisaway top left, 3 bars

Show quick setting buttons
The app should now have a big "play" button, click that and the option to charge or discharge should appear.
Keithwright Got it. . Thank you very much
Rubikcube Excellent! Thanks for sharing this. Looks very interesitng.
