Slightly off topic IOG AIO WW question

So.....I have a small pv array, an AIO and a Zappi to charge my ipace.

I have only changed to IOG in the last couple of days and immediately identified an issue. Octopus decided that at around 6pm yesterday it would schedule a smart charge for 10 minutes which obviously drained the AIO as it assumed it was house load. I've signed up to WonderWatt this morning to alleviate this issue and, hopefully, charge the battery during those smart charging sessions.
The complication is that my son has an EV with a much smaller battery and will charge more often. The ipace is registered with Octopus.
My intention is to have the Octopus smart control disabled unless I need it - I assume that is how it should be. My question is, even with it disabled, would the overnight charge only add the %age shown in the Zappi device on the Octopus App or will it charge for the full 6 hours or until the car is full?

I think by signing to IOG (Intelligent tariff) you have relinquished control of your system to Octopus..

Coys68 When you have automation switched off on Octopus, program what you require through the Zappi scheduler. Octopus has no control when automation is disabled. If you pop over to the WonderWatt forum and ask @mrmessy he is very knowledgeable concerning IOG.

You tell it how much you want and when you want it by. Not sure why that is a problem? Doesn’t the Zappi work with IOG? So would control both car charges.
The extra sessions draining the battery has been discussed at length but I use the ct clamp so the charger is separate from GE stuff.

...and I forgot to mention also schedule a house battery charge at the same time as the zappi schedule so the car is charged from the grid and not the house batteries. I have my house batteries charging for the entire IOG period come what may seven days a week anyway.

My understanding is that if you switch smart charging off in the Octopus App, then you can just rely on the boost settings on the zappi. I base this on a conversation I had today with Octopus as I am experiencing some problems with IOG and the advice was to switch smart charge off (in the app) and set the boost charge on the zappi to coincide with the cheap overnight period.

Thanks - yes, I've always done that even when in Eon Drive. Automation with Octopus and automation with WonderWatt is blowing my tiny mind at the moment 🥴

I don't know if the AIO is connected in the same way as a hybrid inverter to the house/zappi but I find my hybrid/batteries only discharge to the EV if I am exporting at the same time as the EV is charging.

_Thank you for getting in touch about your charging concerns. I wanted to let you know that we are currently seeing known Enode errors affecting all VW ID customers. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes your EV may charge outside of our scheduled smart charging times, which results in higher rate charging.

At the moment, this is a known issue that we can’t control or override from our side. However, the good news is that a fix is expected to be released within the next week. We are preparing to implement this update to reduce the chances of these random charging events happening.

While this fix should help, you may still experience some irregular charging until it’s fully rolled out. We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this.__
