As the title suggests, everything is "alledgedly" working, I have completed a full reboot, switch off restrat etc. and the batteries are just showing 4 red bars on them and the app states idol. Any suggestions as I am bored of waiting 5 days for GivEnergy to get back to me.
Note sure what kit you have.
Are you batteries cold. Can you see your system on the portal?
When you say you have doon a reboot, do you mean powered everything off (Main breaker in consumer unit, DC breakers to PV strings, battery DC breakers) let everything go off for about 30s and then turn back on, this should reboot all PC boards.
You could try the free Android Inverter App on an Android phone. It should tell you a bit more. I believe it communicates directly with the inverter locally and does not need the internet.
I think for a one off £10 fee you can control the inverter.
Others may know more before you spend the £10
Check your logs on the inverter or AIO if you have that do you see anything there?

How are you controlling the charging from the grid? If it is a new install you have to set up grid charging as it only makes sense to do so at times when electricity is cheaper - and the inverter won't know this without being told.
Are there grid charging slots configured but it isn't charging?
Will the batteries charge from excess solar?
Have you checked that Eco mode is enabled?
Have you checked the battery charge rate hasn't been reduced?
Have you checked that the batteries are not paused?
Would the batteries charge from the grid before? When did it stop?
I presume you are on a time of use tariff where your electricity is cheaper during one or more periods of the day.
MTSFW With four red lights on the battery I think that you will need to get your installer or GivEnergy to check the system. It will probably be quicker if you can get the installer to do it. Try turning off the battery and then turn off the battery isolator between the battery and the inverter. Turn on the battery again (not the isolator between battery and inverter). If the battery lights stay green then it is probably an inverter fault.
