Battery Discharge exceeding Consumption

Is anyone getting the issue of the battery discharging more than I am consuming (no export to grid) - been happening for over a month - no response from support who seem impossible to contact in person now

That energy has to be going somewhere, it cannot simply disappear. How are you measuring the consumption, discharge and export?

There will be some conversion losses from the battery DC to the house AC. Let's say 5% (though I have no real idea), then if your AC consumption was 500W, the battery would need to discharge 525W . If you are using the GivEnergy phone app, i believe there is a setting that can be toggled for "Show calculated load" that may take these conversions into account

My portal showing I need 1100W of DC for 1000W of house load. 10% is being lost in conversion. I have no idea how accurate the meters are

I am also seeing this. I think it is a problem with the app in that it is under recording the amount of charge going into the battery. If I look at the portal everything is ok i.e. the charging figure is greater than the discharge figure.

Could be inverter loses. Mine has been like that for ages.
Losses are about 10% converting battery DC to mains AC. YMMV
Could you try the Android Inverter Monitor to see what it says?
There is an option to have the inverter comsumption reported.

Taking the figures from the GivEnergy dashboard - our consumption in the evening is also relatively constant but the SOC drops dramatically occassionally (40% of the time) from 40% down to 10% (on a 13KWh battery while consuming about 500 KWh. I get the impression that the information provided is far from accurate but I am a complete novice

Maybe run a battery calibration, so the battery can determine "where it is"

Ed53 The chemistry of LFP batteries is such that the voltage is very flat across most of the range of SoC. The recommendation is to regularly allow the battery to fully charge and to fully discharge, which allows the BMS to better track the energy available. This drop is consistent with the system losing track of the true state of charge.

Thanks for all the advice - obviously GivEnergy going into administration is concerning so I will live with it for now until I know better what the future holds - I will take a look at battery calibration tho.
