I honestly cannot fathom how givenergy have managed to f*ck up the web portal so badly.

I was using the legacy card, because it was actually accurate... the 'new and improved' one was not.

Now they have 'forced' users onto the shitty one and this is what we are dealing with... complete garbage, so much missing data, entire days gone... weeks of data disappeared that does exist... but simply can no longer be seen... and what can be seen is not accurate... they've 'disappeared' about 10% of the generation each month in previous years too. What they show does not match with the actual data, they're manipulating the data to show less than you actually generate and export... less than the meters show... less than my energy provider pays me for.

The enshitification of the web portal continues.... it's utterly pathetic at how they've managed to screw this up so badly... are they making is so bad... so they can try and charge you a subscription fee to access your own data in the future... It's exactly the kind of bullshit companies try to pull.

I wish I'd never gone with this company... they just don't give a shit... probably sacked all of the developers and coded everything with aislop.

I've come onto the community site here to see what others were thinking as I've had exactly the same experience. I used the 'legacy' version, always did, as it was good and accurate.
Why move to the new version when they KNOW its not right?!

I agree Legacy was very accurate against energy providers numbers the "new" version is very innacurate. Loads of completes in a parralel thread too!

Very quickly after my install I discovered that the app and portal reports didn't work for my twin-inverter setup, I would get negative house loads and figures that just didn't make sense. That was what first got me to try Home Assistant so I could create my own energy graphs, and TBH I've never really looked back.

The best solution without home assistant is to either download the raw portal data or take the monthly start/end total figures and create your own spreadsheet.

I already create my own spreadsheets, manually... So I know exactly how the 'new and enshitified' data is... well... shit.

The raw data doesn't lie... the web portal does. When I call it garbage... I'm actually being extremely polite.

Ah... if only I could... all I get is a never ending loop of trying to verify that just goes back to the login page... the givinstaller app is exactly the same... utter garbage that doesn't work. the givenergy sso is fucked beyond any usefulness.

I just registered my name as a "punter". I dont think it needed any link to my GivEnergy login or kit

SteveCook I think it's so badly coded (suggesting it was coded with aislop) that it has an issue with any web browser that isn't chrome on windows... I use a variation of Brave, Librewolf (firefox without the AI slop) and Firefox... so I can sandbox certain sites and isolate data harvesting and privacy invasion.

I might try with one of the other browsers... but to be honest... I have zero faith in givenergy fixing anything... or even being capable of fixing the slop... garbage in... garbage out... the future of web development.

I'm so glad I got out of the industry before the aislop took over.
