I have set up an export because my batteries are full and although the app is showing the batteries discharging 4.02kW it only shows it as being consumed by home. There is not discharge to the grid showing. The web portal is also not showing any discharge to the grid. The batteries are however discharging and nothing is on in the home that would consume that amount of power.

Do you have an In Home Display (IHD) or Hildebrand Glow/Octopus Home Mini that will show you if you are importing or exporting in real time?
If not, do you have a Smart Meter? You could check tomorrow on your provider's website to see if there was any export, and if it matched what was shown in the app.
Unless your batteries are full and you are generating a lot of solar, GivEnergy equipment would not normally export unless you have set a Timed Export.
What equipment do you have and how do you control it?
I see that you have chosen to export so that explains that bit. How long have you had your equipment? Have you seen export on the app before? The Chart in year view should show you if have had any export recorded.
Meadway Is this a new install, or has it been working as expected before but now something has changed ? Does the solar and battery usually cover consumption as expected?
What sort of system do you have ?
(An incorrect CT clamp is one possible reason for this, but that wouldn't normally go wrong out of the blue, and would manifest as the battery not covering consumption.)
Everything was working fine until the beginning of this week. I have had the system since 2022 and have been importing/exporting on demand with no issues until earlier this week when it decided of its own accord to do an unscheduled import.
Since the beginning of the week the batteries have stopped providing power to the home and home use is from the grid (very little solar generation due to the lack of sun!).
Meadway that's consistent with the CT clamp misbehaving. That's the mechanism by which the system measures home consumption, and decides how much is needed from the battery. (Strictly, it's measuring grid activity, and infers consumption from that.)
For hybrid inverter, there's a small meter inside the consumer unit that makes the reading available to the inverter. That should have a display cycling through various readings. One possibility is that the RCD supplying it has tripped.
I'm not sure how it works on the AIO.
