I have just discovered that the battery had switched itself off, on switching it back on, i could see that the red steady LED was illuminated and 1 green flashing LED. It is not taking charge from the solar panels and I cannot get it to take a charge from the grid. The battery is showing as 0% even though it is set up to not drop below 4%.
I have managed to perform a firware update which has worked but still cannot get the battery to charge?
I have tried to power everything down and back up again but nothing has changed.
Any help would be appreciated, I have sent Givenergy support an email but only had the automated response and as for contacting by telephone I just keep getting cut off.
9.5kWh Battery had switched itself off and no charge
Nickjones For how long had it been turned off ? As I understand it, if the charge level gets very low, it requires an intervention to get it to resume normal operation.

Key point is checking that the batteries haven't tripped
Never mind, I see that they have taken down that page now. Check that the isolator handles in the side of the battery are in the on position.
Nothing had tripped the isolator handles at the side of the battery were in the normal on position.
Looking at the history it would appear that it was all working until mid February.
so a complete mystery?
Do you just charge it from solar or do you (when it is functioning) also charge it off peak from the grid? The first appreciable solar of the year we had was the 14th February.
It might be useful to know if it had been largely idle over the winter.
I have it set up with Octopus Agile tarif 30min price update, so when the price drop to a set point which I can input, it should charge from the grid if it has capacity too, and also set to take solar when we have some sun.
I have just checked it wasnt February it was January when it went silent on me so to speak.
Nickjones Do you know what the SoC was (roughly) when it went AWOL ?

I hope this is what you were looking for?
Nickjones Unfortunately it is what I was concerned about... was hoping it would have been much higher. Not something I know much about, but as I mentioned earlier, when the cell voltages get very low, I believe it can require some sort of physical intervention (opening the battery and attaching a charger to the cells ?) to wake them up. I don't know how quickly the cells would self-discharge when turned off.
This is the sort of thing I was thinking of:
https://community-beta.givenergy.cloud/t/flat-batteries-manual-charge/5017/3
but note that this is the AIO, which is a high voltage battery.
But it might be something else a lot simpler. Does anyone think a calibration might help ?
I will have to justhope and pray that the support team will contact me soon so that they can sort something as the battery is still under warranty.
Thanks for having a look. :
Nickjones you would probably be best advised to contact your installer as well. If the battery has discharged to a low level then sometimes support can reactivate it remotely, but if its too low a level then it will need an onsite engineer and GivEnergy in the first instance want customers to get their installer to do the 'battery boost'
