I'm trying to followup on a registered support ticket by phone as no reply to emails. The AI assistant tells me my call is being transferred to Tech Support but each time the line drops and I'm cut off. Anyone any other ways to contact other than the 252874 number?
Tech Support contact
No, GivEnergy support has been almost non-existent for a couple of years.
pwdst The only way I've heard of that works is select the "installer" option when you call in. Its then pot luck whether you get help or get blown out for not being an installer. Worth a try I'd say?

tmike Although if your kit is recently installed then why don’t you get the installer to either deal with it or raise it with GE. After all your contract is with your installer not GE.
Maxwell, the inverter is not working, there is a long standing ticket in Tech Support, who have agreed to send an engineer to find and fix the issue. The panels have not blown off the roof, cables are not burnt out, and the install has worked for 2 years - how can the installer be is the mix?
Btw have you looked at GE 2024 accounts at Companies house? The web site is free for use!
My installer is waiting for GE to send them a warranty replacement inverter for mine.
Should have been delivered last week for install today, but it hasn't arrived yet.
Original kit was installed 2 years ago.
We bought a house with GE kit about a year ago - Its not working at moment, been waiting over a month for support so reached for the credit card to pay someone....but cant find anyone who will touch it, all quoting useless support form GE as reason. We are considering cutting our losses and switching brands!
If you tell is what kit you have got and what tariff, the people on this forum will try to help.
Can you login to the kit on the GivEnergy portal. You may need to get login details from previous owner?
Can you login to the kit using the GivEnergy phone app?
Have you tried the Android Inverter Monitor app. It is free for the basic version, and a one off £10 version that can control some inverter functions (no connection to seller/publisher!!)
nomisegdelp What specifically is the problem when you say it isn't working? There is a lot of expertise in these forums which might at least give you time to pick options rather than being rushed into a replacement as a distressed purchase.

tmike Our inverter developed a fault. We went via the installer. Although it still took about 5 months and a lot of to and from between the installer and GE before we got a new inverter. Surely the model here like with say buying a car is you go to the dealer in the first instance and if required they engage the vendor. Admittedly in the IOT space is challenging especially where either the vendor or installer is having issues or goes out of business.
tmike I have the same problem. my inverter has died. emailed support on 9th March, no response. Phone line goes to AI and gets cut off each time.

Mine died Sat Jan 17th, raised support ticket on the Mon 19th Jan, heard nothing for a week so called installers.
They've been out twice, 2nd time on a support call.
GE said it needed warranty replacement and forwarded to warranty team to approve and supply.
2 days later replacement was approved.
That was 3 weeks ago, and so far nothing.
Installers keep chasing.
Another failure here 👋
Oh boy. There’s a few of us then. Thanks for the info sharing.
Also M_J....
wrighar I just emailed support and got a ticket number which I will be giving my installer who has installed GE kit before.
My previous issue was solved eventually by GE. I just lost my inverter again likely due to an electrician not protecting the inverter by properly powering it down.
He can play the GE support game or they can buy and install a new inverter.

I did wonder if GE would cover this as a warranty issue given what happened. They didn't offer me much solace or support when I did something equally stupid
geoffreycoan if GE responds I would think they would not accept responsibility.
I have at least not paid for the solar yet bar a deposit.
The solar installer should have insurance, so I am sure we will reach an agreement but it's just the stress in obtaining that and getting the battery system working again.
I was counting on it as the solar system is being doubled in size and I have a restricted export capacity.
pwdst Failed firmware updates, dongle connected fine, light on on inverter but repeated messages saying its not responding. Tried everything in help pages/on fora I can find to restart it to no avail. Battery now flat so would need a jumpstart. Bought with house so no idea who installer was or if they are still trading and no one seems to want to take it on as they get no help form GE they say. Any my support ticket is over six weeks old. Also I want a bidirectional charger for a car due in 8-10 weeks, have the £ and my time is more valuable...I have spent hours trying to fix it.
