Has anyone had a call regarding the inverter? Was called usually ignore if don't recognise number, but got caught off guard. The caller knew my name and carried on telling me that the company that provided the inverter no longer operates and that the inverter after time needs a part that will need replacing.
She then went on to offer a free visit by one of the staff to check it. Put her off and finish the call.
Cold call
carole Sounds a very sensible thing to do! Any unsolicited call offering something, is likely to be scam. My concern would be where they got your name and number from. Maybe your original installers have been hacked?
carole Scam..
The inverter either works or does not.
Nothing to check, they just want to scare you into unnecessary expensive work.
You might never need to replace it, but it might eventually fail, 10 years used to be the expected life span but with all electronics in can be more or less. Only replace when it fails.
Report the number on the various web sites you can do.
Take a read of this
GivEnergy passed my details to an unknown (to me) installer, even though I asked them use my original installer.

M_J Definitely sounds like a scam. One of our MPPT channels became degraded. Not sure what actually happened at the pcb level. Nor whether there is much modular design in there. Inverter kept working just a less than optimal output. The inverter was replaced under warranty. But with the talk in the forum of whether GE will continue to operate as a company then perhaps folks could be looking at whether there are any repairable or replaceable components. Although in such a scenario I suspect that the cost of such repairs could be quite large. So as you say replace. Iām sure someone on here will know more.
carole So who was it that contacted you?
Vestas Or OP can share the phone number, so that we can all block it? š))))
rio911 I expect we'll all be getting cold calls/spam soon...
