In light of all the chat about GivEnergy's future I started to think what I would do if any of my equipment failed and GivEnergy were not there to assist with sorting it.
I run Home Assistant and GivTCP so if the portal went down permanently I think I'd be OK.
I have 2 AC3 inverters, 2 9.6kWh batteries and an EMS
My biggest worry is if the EMS failed I think EVERYTHING stops working
Does anyone know if an EMS fails can it just be swapped out for another as I'm contemplating buying a spare

Graham_Harrison I believe that if you have an EMS that fails there is a way of reconfiguring the inverter to retain direct control. That’s what one of the givenergy employees (Mike?) said on the other forum. I know no more details than that I’m afraid.

If EMS fails:-
Change Modbus wiring and EM115 IDs back to where they were before the EMS arrived. Revert the inverter firmware (could be a good idea to save a copy just in case). Then you are back to cross-charging. Then back to GivTCP and HA with 'balancing software'. Not ideal but do-able.

Slartibartfast thanks but really not a scenario I would want to carry out, especially changing firmwares backover, but I appreciate the input.
