During a firmware update about 6 weeks ago I lost my link to the inverter. No matter what I did the app would not find the inverter. When a local company sent someone out he spent much of a day failing to get the app to link up. During the day he noticed one of the PV connectors was burned.
When I connected a CAT 6 ethernet connection to the inverter (link set up during the day visit) all other equipment linked to the same switch lost their connection to the internet. (error message appeared).
Unplugging the inverter restored the internet link to the other equipment.
This suggests the communication board/module is faulty.
Can this board/module be replaced or is it a new inverter.
GivEnergy has failed to reply to any of my 5 emails (other than the automated system).
Has anyone met this situation before or does anyone know of a likely solution (other than a new inverter)
Thoughts appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
Loss of link to internet

MT68 What inverter do you have? There is often a dip switch you need to do to swap between wifi on the inverter and wired.

Thanks for replying.
The 1st dip switch has been changed. The fact that all items attached to the switch lost their internet connection when I plugged in the 5k inverter. Internet restored when I unplugged the CAT6 to the inverter.
An installer from a company spent almost a day and he couldn't get it to work no matter what he tried.
Link to the app disappeared during a firmware upgrade at about 1:0am.

MT68 Try posting on and wave at the dragon. This might be something he can assist with. BUT you will see on the forum's lost of support/rma issues with giv at the moment, so fingers crossed this is something as simple as turn it off and on with a usb with the firmware on plugged in.
THALL thanks for that idea re a USB with the firmware update.
