MCS Protection??????

A quick google search regarding MCS protection reveals the following ...... Is AI correct?

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) protects renewable energy system buyers when a manufacturer goes bust primarily through the requirement of mandatory Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs) or MCS Approved Financial Protection Products provided by the installer. While a manufacturer’s warranty is lost, MCS ensures the installation itself remains protected for at least six years, allowing for remediation if the system fails due to design or workmanship faults.

It goes on to say:

Manufacturer vs. Installer Insolvency: MCS is designed primarily to cover the installer going bust. If the manufacturer (e.g., the heat pump brand) goes bust but the installer is still trading, the installer is generally responsible for remedying faults under the MCS workmanship guarantee

Coys68 Sounds about right. HIES insurance is pretty worthless frankly.

I just flagged the adminsitration notice to my installer and got this reply

Re the warranty of the system, manufacturer warranties are provided directly by the manufacturer. In the event that a manufacturer ceases trading, these warranties may unfortunately no longer be enforceable, as they depend on the manufacturer remaining in business to support them.

Your system was installed by us, and we will continue to support you in line with our contractual obligations and UK consumer law. If you experience any issues with your system, please contact us and we will assess the situation and advise on the most appropriate next steps.

Where any fault relates specifically to a component and is no longer covered by a manufacturer warranty, we will always aim to assist with practical solutions, which may include repair or replacement options where appropriate.

My next question to them was (I'm waiting to hear back):

Can you confirm the legal name of the manufacturer providing the warranty please? Is it GivEnergy Ltd? Or is it different as per the attached certificate of conformity?

Just trying to get to grips with what's going on here as there are several "GivEnergy" companies registered and entity names used.

Any more information you can obtain as the accredited and approved installer would be appreciated.

This certificate for the AIO and GW has the manufacturer listed as "Shenzhen Givenergy Co., Ltd"...

Looking at the the pdf of my warranty and all other documentation it simply carries the GivEnergy name and/or logo - no specific legal entity is given.
