Enable or Disable EPS

My equipment
2 x AC3 Inverters
1 x EMS
2 x 9.5 kW Batteries
For some unknown (to me) reason every now & again if I check my AC3 inverters settings via the web portal I find my EPS is disabled on either 1 or both of my inverters.
I wish for both to be permanently enabled so if I discover this I re enable them
My concern is if we loose the web portal I won't be able to do this as to my knowledge that is the only way I can do this.
I run Home Assistant with the GivTCP addon but that item isn't discovered
I use the official GivEnergy app (android) but that feature isn't present
I use the inverter app (android) but that feature isn't present
To my knowledge this is the only feature adjustment I can't change outside of the GivEnergy web portal
Has anyone else noticed this or have a solution

When your inverters were commisioned or recomissioned, was EPS enabled by the installer/GE?

When I had my EPS installed, it basically worked but I had to get the system recomissioned by the installer and GE to get some official "EPS available" setting registered in the system. YMMV

alan_johnston yes I think essentially it got recommisioned.
My concern is that if the Official GivEnergy web portal goes I wont be able to re-enable or disable if I wanted too the EPS setting.
I don't want to disable it but on a few occasions I've noticed it had somehow got disabled

I can enable EPS mode on my hybrid inverters using the BBC basic inverter app. Of course this may not work for the EMS.

But to be honest I don;t know what EPS mode actually does. The inverters natively support an EPS, voltage is supplied to the EPS terminals all the time there is a grid supply. Maybe the mode controls whether it switches over to battery supply when the grid is lost?

Agree would be good to have this in givtcp as an option. Maybe raise a feature request?

geoffreycoan On an AIO 1, it enables/disables the Gateway switching the house over to island mode in order to run it from battery power in the event of a grid outage. There is also a "0 Second EPS Countdown" setting that does what it says on the tin so that Grid >> Islanding is near instantaneous (<20ms), though this setting does not appear in the App or Web Portal and has to be set by GE/Installer (though changes to it do appear in the inverter logs) .

Thanks, I was aware of the 0 second EPS countdown and did have this set for my inverters. Makes sense what you say about the AIO and gateway.

This raises and interesting question then for my AIO G1 and Gateway. Looks like a feature request for @Rubikcube 's app and GivTCP. Being able to re-enable this after some sort of reset or corruption seems a necessity to have functioning kit for the coming years.

Mouton Yes. Now that GE has tanked, there's no reason not to expose this register/functionality in GivTCP and the various apps

You can enable/disable EPS from the local control in the ge app.

My Giv app is only discovering 1 of my inverters but I have 2

Maxwell Nice to see that and I note it is Register 317 (if I ever become a python guru and clone the GivTCP repo!). Shame the "0 Second EPS Countdown" control isn't there as well.
