Looks like the software guys hae been making changes to the app.
I now have to use a Wi-Fi dongle authentication code, which has suddently appeared on my phone, rather than the cloud one I have always used

I had a problem a couple of days ago using the SSO login (with the email address and password) but the old style login (with the username and login) worked and I can control everything as normal. Hope that helps.

petecogle Presumably you never migrated to SSO? Users who had were entering their SSO login credentials into the legacy authentication boxes and those weren't working and causing confusion.

petecogle No, I mean I cannot download it or update it, the version I am on I cannot access any battery settings, I never updated it because that green ui is a horrendous piece of ****.

Old version requires login to the cloud.
The new version with 100% local access requires Android 10 or higher. 🙁
If you are Android 9 or lower (like me) then Rubikcube Inverter Monitor App is the only option if you can't upgrade past Android 9 (like me).

alan_johnston This is exactly why basic control should not be in the pay for tier, doing it via browser will just work regardless of what you are on.

Android 9 was end of life in January 2022 and 8 in January 2021. Neither receive security patches any more so I think it’s entirely reasonable that the GivEnergy needs a newer (more secure) operating system.
Splash the cash and spend £59 on an Android 14 phone from Currys. Doubtless you can buy cheaper elsewhere

I don't like replacing perfectly working things willy nilly, I don't get that much money, current system took most of the money I had saved, was supposed to be an investment and a bit of a safety net incase prices of electricity started getting out of hand again.
I was lucky my dad was very happy with his Samsung phone that had a ZeroLemon battery in it so I got my last phone from his new contract.
