Smart Tariff Altering settings

Over the past few weeks (since Easter weekend) a Smart Tariff API has been changing my timed charging settings, this is now being done on a daily basis at approx midnight, I have disconnected from Hive and disabled API's showing in account settings but the settings still keep being changed. My energy supplier Octopus advised that a bug had been sending spurious information to all solar/battery systems but claim that this has now been fixed, however settings are still being altered. Anyone else seeing this and if so any ideas how to prevent the smart tariff making these changes?

The newer Smart Tariff card on the GivEnergy portal actually controls your battery rather than simply reporting on cost. This isn't as clear as it should be. It attempts to use the tariff details to optimise charge and discharge by IMO does a poor job of it and definitely overwrites settings as it does so. If I were you I would reset and remove the Smart Tariff card - especially if you aren't planning on paying GivEnergy for remote access to the Portal in less than a week from today.
I am unclear what will happen to people who have (accidentally or otherwise) set up the Smart Tariff optimisation at that point. In theory it should stop as it is costing them money to run, but I could see a world where it at least initially continues to run but cannot be configured without payment.
If you are planning to pay but don't want it to control your batteries the legacy card will meet that need, but has been on the cusp of retirement for months.

pwdst thanks for the reply, I am a little confused as to what you are recommending and where the Smart Tariff Card might be located
I have carried out a system reset but cannot locate any reference to smart tariff enable/disable
Is there away to check is smart tariff optimisation is set on my system?

Bazza You should find this in the portal. There is a smart tariff (legacy) card and the new one.

If you have used this, and no longer want it, you should do the rest and remove/delete option - when I tried this out, even though I had disabled it, it still continued to control the battery and only stopped after I deleted all the details

Bazza I have just located a new window added to may dashboard which is Smart Tariff automation, the settings in here match those which my system is being overwritten with which I have now disabled, fingers crossed this cures the problem

Bazza You may have to delete the settings rather than disable them - as I said, when I tried that they were still in effect!! Although that was a while ago and might have been fixed since...
