I am kind of keen to get a working local access to my AIO2 via the app or anything. The system is AIO2 and Gateway, 2 months old, with a Solar Edge Solar inverter. I have not been able to get a wifi connection for the last month or so and so wired up an ethernet connection to the Battery LAN socket which gives me local information but there is no PV generation showing. The Cloud does see it and reports apparently correctly on the app and the online web monitoring site. In the background the system is doing what I want it to do but I am thinking I need some control when the cloud service packs up. Anyone got any ideas?

App "Home" function not seeing PV generation on AIO2, but is visible on "Away".
What router do you have? Is the inverter on the same subnet as your phone? Could it be on a different VLAN? Is your phone on the main or guest network?
RichardJ I have the same/similar set-up and the same situation. The PV appears for a second or two on Home, then drops out.

I can see everything over wifi though. Everything's on the same network, as far as I know.
I don't know if there's a way to connect to the SE inverter, but the GE gateway obviously sees it okay. It's just the local connection that doesn't see it - and the other values sort of adjust to the lack of PV. Portal and Away all work fine. My guess is it's a bug in the AIO2/Gateway, where something misses that data at the local end. It would be interesting if anyone could connect another client to it.

I don't have an android device that I can use at the moment. I'm looking to get one, when I get the chance. From what I've seen, it does look good though.
At the moment, I'm sticking with the online stuff, with the intention of setting up the two main alternatives - your app an Ha. Life does tend to get in the way, though. 🙂

pwdst all on the same network, no guest network set up. Bear in mind the phone app can see info about the battery to home energy exchange, just not the PV.
adskankster I can confirm that I usually get the PV info for a couple of seconds then it drops but I am not sure if it is some sort of ghost data ???

If you have a PC you can set up an android emulator and run RubikCube's app on there (works fine on BlueStacks on Windows 11). Just need a play store sign in for premium use. I believe the emulator is Android Studio on MacOS, but don't have one.
PaDav6 Thanks, that enabled me to see if Rubikcube's program finds my solar input - it doesnt, quite a faff to get it all set up.

adskankster I seem to have the same problem as you and neither the BBC app nor the Rubikcube app can see the solar input. Not a desperate problem as long as the cloud solution is maintained but really would like to get unhooked from needing that!

I think you said you have an AIO2 and a separate SolarEdge inverter, is that right?
The AIO2 can be connected to panels, but presumably yours isn't? So logically the apps are right there is no solar input to your AIO2.
I am wondering why the installer didn't connect the panels to the AIO2. Is it a legacy FIT installation? Or maybe the location makes it difficult?
I don't know if the AIO2 firmware supports an ID2 meter like the old AC3 units did. I wonder if your installer hasn't wired the ID2 in the gateway correctly.
Does the gateway record the solar input? Have you tried putting the IP address of the gateway into the app instead of the AIO2?
RichardJ Yes, the BBC app doesn't show it for me, either.
Rubikcube In my system, the PV is wired through the gateway. If I go to the inverter data in the portal, I can see the PV data for the gateway, but not the AIO2.
FWIW, the BBC app is connected to both. It shows nothing for the gateway - hence no pV - but the full data for the AIO2. As the AIO2 doesn't see the PV, I guess that's why that app doesn't see the PV.
So it seems that the portal and "Away" part of the GE app can see the PV, because the gateway is reporting to them, but connecting locally only connects to the AIO2, which doesn't seem to see it. It might be because all inputs are from the gateway, so it considers them to be one source - although the numbers don't seem to tally - if the PV > 0, the consumption doesn't match.
I think there may be different ways to wire up the gateway, or maybe the gateway has configuration settings, I don't know. But I have come across systems where the same solar is reported by both (in this case AIO and gateway). If I add them together, then it gets doubled and the result is a mess.
If two IP addresses are put into my app, and the first one detects as AC coupled, then the PV is only taken from that first one and PV from the other is ignored.
So it sounds like the gateway would need to be put in first and then the AIO second to pick up the battery data.
adskankster This sounds plausible. I have two issues with it that I don't understand though.
Firstly; when initially installed everything seemed to work OK with Home and away. Then I suddenly lost the AIO2 Wi-Fi connection which I have not got back (can't work out how to reset the Wi-Fi in the AIO2, there are no reset buttons). When I eventually managed to set up a LAN connection to one of my MESH units I got connection to the AIO2 but no Solar data on Home. Away works fine.
The second concern is that my loss of Wi-Fi possibly coincided with the AIO2 tripping out at the Gateway. Was the trip related to a hardware issue that resulted in the Solar data getting lost? I can't be sure. Did your system ever work on Home?
Rubikcube I was told the Gateway login is there for installers to do their configuration things and the portal data is all from the AIO2. The Gateway is also password protected and I can't get in, and neither it seems can the installer now. A GE engineer on the phone just before Easter told me this but couldn't help with the password, Insisted I should not reset the comms on the Gateway as that would kill his ability to dial in and denied the existence of the 4G dongle that was the only way he could be dialled in as I had paused the MESH network. I guess he just couldn't wait to get away...
A question about your app; Do you think that your premium version would control the battery charge and discharge even though the Home information is missing the Solar info? This matters as at the moment I am happy with it all just doing its own thing; however if there are power cuts (like we recently had in the storms in Cornwall) I would like to anticipate by filling my battery sometimes in anticipation of possible power cuts. Especially in winter when it never gets that full from the solar
RichardJ I don't remember it ever working with Home, but tbh that may not mean a lot either way.
I had the AIO2 restart once (that I know of), so it's possible it was similar to your situation. However I haven't had any WiFi issues, so far.
I know at least one of installers has an AIO2 as well, so I have thought about contacting him and asking whether he can see PV on Home, or the LAN. Just need to get round to it.
I have managed to get into the config pages for both the Gateway and the Battery and got my Wi-Fi connection going but this doesn't resurrect the Solar generation data in the Home view in the App. Away still working.

I really don't know. The controls on an AIO2 might be different. I have been told on an AIO (the original version) you can adjust the power, but if you have two AIO's it doesn't work and the power has to be adjusted at the gateway.
In essence all my app does is set a certain register to a certain value. What effect that has might depend on the equipment and how it is wired together.
RichardJ Can you post some pointers to how you did it, please? Just in case I hit the same issue.
adskankster I presume you mean how did I get access to the settings screen and thus my WiFi? I still can't access my solar details on any local app.
My problem was that having no WiFi reset button I couldn’t get at the settings to change them. These comments refer to the AIO2 without an external dongle.
I started with a LAN connection; a long Ethernet cable to one of my MESH WiFi units. (I imagine it could be accessed via a direct Ethernet connection to a laptop but I have not tested that)
The Portal is only accessed via the battery (AIO2) so the cable goes into the LAN socket there behind a screwed in cover at the top right side of the unit (see the manual).
From a PC I could then see the IP address of the AIO2 so typed that into my browser address bar. This pulled up a simple login screen (sometimes after a spot of delay). This required, for me, User; admin, Password; the serial number of the WiFi unit in your AIO2 which in my case is a 10 digit alphanumeric beginning with WR. You will find it on the side of the battery box and also visible in the Portal.
This opens the settings page from where you can configure the AP (WiFi access point) where you can see the SSID and the password which you can change. As I understand it the AP is where you can wirelessly access the settings page via IP 10.10.100.254 but if you don’t have the password you have either to reset the WiFi and use the default login (tricky as I have no reset button) or go in via the LAN as above.
You can also go into the STA settings which is where you can give the AIO2 your home WiFi access details so it can join your network to enable the GE app or other monitoring apps to communicate with the Portal. Gotchas here seem to include having an incompatible ‘Authmode’ (encryption protocol) and getting the DHCP to see the correct network which can take a while.
The other problem is that the monitoring apps may have difficulty finding the Portal and need to be manually given the IP address but with DHCP this can jump around a bit so setting a fixed or reserved IP for the Portal might be a good idea.
I ended up using a permanent LAN connection rather than actually using the WiFi in the end.

RichardJ that's exactly what I was after, thank you very much. I'd be tempted to use a wired connection, but routing would be a pain. So any possibility of troubleshooting or resetting the WiFi is potentially much better. Again, thanks.
adskankster It turns out the installer has an AIO1, my misunderstanding.
It's been suggested that restarting the AIO2 will fix the issue. I might wait and see what HA shows before doing that. Should be setting it up over the next week or so.
I've now got HA installed and I'm looking through the basic monitoring/control stuff.
It looks like GivTcp is my AIO2 and GivTcp2 is my gateway.
I can see PV Energy Today data on GivTcp2 Energy, but on GivTcp Energy it's 0. However, the GivTcp Energy / PV Energy Total has the right figure, whereas the GivTcp2 Energy equivalent is 0.
So I need to use GivTcp for PV Total and GivTcp2 for PV Today.
I can't check the live Power, but in the history cards, GivTcp2 is needed to get the full graph.
I'll see if I can check the live values tomorrow evening, when our PV is back generating.

adskankster Since yesterday/day before overnight, the PV values have stopped reporting to HA, except the total energy generated. In the portal and the app (Away section), it's still working as before. So I don't know if the GE online software is calculating it purely from dTE, or it's just GivTCP that's lost those other sensors. An HA restart didn't fix it.
This thread matches my current situation - it looks like there's no obvious fix. I might have to try a restart
