I’ve just heard that GivEnergy has gone into administration - if true, where does that leave the customers that have paid a hell of a lot of money for their kit.

Gammers Make yourself a brew and look down the list of forums here, and you will find all you wish to know. Make it a large brew.

TLDR Likely no warranty or hardware support.

Option of either paying the surviving GivEnergy Software Ltd £4.99 a month to keep app and portal as they were, use the official app local only which won't give you data or control away from home, or use third party tools.

There are a lot of posts on here and I am not going to regurgitate it all.

Also check your email.

Gammers You can always reach out to your installer and ask them how they are are going to support you going forward, assuming they are still in business. I imagine there are a lot of installers waiting to see whether anything comes out of the administration process. So, still not clear what will happen re hardware failures going forward. Their software entity appears to be still in business and are going to charge a £4.99/month fee for a "premium" tier access to the portal where you see your historical data and conduct remote control of your kit. And if you have been using their API to pull down data or use third party integration then that access will now be in the paid tier option. The free access to the portal will be limited in capability and this will include being able to use the GE app in a local only mode, no cloud access. So, when your phone is on the same home network as your inverter you will still be able to control it. But, there are plenty of local control options discussed across the forum.

I think there is a large proportion of owners that are still unaware of the administration.
