How to delete my GivEnergy Account?

I no longer need my GivEnergy login as I replaced my system (Hybrid Inverter GIV-HY3.6 plus Giv-Bat9.5 Battery) in April. I noticed that the battery (which was a 1st gen) had lost capacity by the summer following installation in October 2022 and continued to gradually degrade despite applying updates. GivEnergy just did not respond to my requests for a replacement under warranty. My installer refused to do business with GivEnergy as they were owed for warranty returns. My worst investment ever.

So I have cut my losses and installed an EcoFlow PowerOcean (5 kW Hybrid Inverter with two 5 kW Batteries) instead. Good call I think. Far better and works more consistently but the app is still a bit raw.

I've looked in Account Settings and Manage Account Security and there is no option to delete the account online.

Is contacting the administrator via the help desk the only way?
I doubt I'll get any response, especially since that GivEnergy is now in administration.

Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.

The account is with GivEnergy Software Ltd who are still trading. If it was the hardware business then it would eventually have been deleted when that was wound up.
There are recent emails from the software business with reference to their proposed charges. Find the email address for questions in one of those and email them. Keep in mind that there are three employees in total so it might not be instantly resolved, especially as they are busy working on the charging release.
Of course if that entity fails then the account would presumably also be deleted when the cloud infrastructure is.

Why do you feel the need to delete it rather than just abandoning it?

mrand31 One would hope that if still trading they have a process for deleting customer data once a customer has said delete account. Although you could argue that after a certain period of inactivity they would have a process for trying to contact the customer before they then suspend before finally deleting. Of course it might already say somewhere in there existing t&cs what their policy is re inactive accounts. Does anyone know ?

mrand31 I like to keep control and minimise my online foot print where ever possible, especially if there is a potential exposure to a poorly maintained service, potential security risk, etc. Also eliminates a source of future emails that are no longer relevant cluttering up my inbox. I don't want to be pestered to sign up to the new premium service etc.

I have successfully deleted my account by, downloading the new GivEnergy app from the play store. Although it could not find my inverter it did allow me to go into my Account Settings. At the bottom of the Account Settings screen there is a new option to delete the account.
Farewell - best of luck. Over and out.
