Great comms from GE again - just pull the plug. Some option of pre-emptive action would have been nice.

Anyway - does anyone know if the Axle Energy option will interfere with the export tariff I get from Octopus? I'm guessing not but would appreciate others thoughts....

Yes, the communications and programming are to the standard we have come to expect from GE.

Coys68 They say not. It was happy to work with my Octopus export tariff, so Axle at least thinks it's okay. There's quite a few here on Axle, so someone might be able to give some useful feedback from actual experience.

Rubikcube You couldn't make it up could you? So unprofessional cut everyone off with no prior warning then start sending push notifications out about upgrading to people's phones

Coys68 if you are on IOG you might not be allowed to use Axel. There's exclusive rights for demand services in IOG tariff t&c I believe.

TX200 this was what I was thinking. So we'd have to pay a sub to get the info we're used to. Atm the updated app can't even find my inverter!

bevthewitch or use a smart phone app like inverter monitor by Andrew / RubikCube or BBC Basic Inverter App, or look at speak to the geek on YouTube (info on how to setup home assistant).

Rubikcube it's not all bad. They've handed us the registers on a plate....some i didn't know.

hoggy Are they accurate though? Some of mine show no value (DC Discharge 1) even though these are set

hoggy Intereting.

Register 163 Restart inverter seems to ask to enter any value. I thought I read in an old version of GivTCP if you send any value other than 100 bad things will happen.

Registers 104 and 172 are a bit new, and concerning. Not sure I want a self heating battery!

Yeah it used to be if you wrote 1 to it you wiped the inverter. Not sure i'm brave enough to try that one out in the app.
Worryingly you would assume 0 and 1 as viable units (not 100 that ACTUALLY restarts it) so that may be fun for someone to find out shortly.

317 is bugging me - I thought your users discovered that "IsLanCheck..." actually did that (unless theres 2 ways to do the same thing)

Two ways to do the same thing is normal for GE. The old power values 111 and 112 are duplicated (on the AIO I think) by 313 and 314. There is just no logic to the allocation of registers.

R199 Inverter parallel mode...

hoggy R317 is enable EPS on mine (G3 Hybrid)

#16 hoggy

wrighar assume that is for Gateways/AIO

If it was for anything else they wouldn't have spent two years+ building an EMS

TX200 so I can see my data using the BBC Basic app. That's a start.

Rubikcube The ability to send 1 and reset your invert to factory has claimed 2 peoples inverters already!

Sounds Dangerous what were they using to do that?

#20 hoggy

duplada on the new app there is a button for "Restart Inverter" - but its not really a button it's an input field it asks you to provide a value for and then press send to submit to the inverter.
Common logic would lead you to think that the value to restart it would be the number 1.
Number 1 however actually wipes the inverter back to factory settings.
The number you need to send to restart is: 100

hoggy Thank you for explaining, Wow that seems a little dangerous, could it be that this team of 3 GES people don't know what they are doing or have very little programming knowledge or probably both? 😯

They promised me Free access to the Portal because my Dual AIO cannot operate locally, only on the Portal. When I tested it yesterday I can see Dashboard Overview in the portal, I can get to the Remote control page of the Gateway, and see command history, I can also see all the Inverter settings and adjust them, but as soon as I click the Icon to apply the setting the Paywall banner pops up.

Same old GE Nothing works, Nothing Tested.

Will just use the Inverter App for now, from what I have read elsewhere the New App is not what everyone was hoping for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hoggy send 1 and reset your invert to factory

Seeing as I have a spare inverter, sounds worthy of investigation.

Rubikcube Good Luck and may the "Force" be with you always. 😆

TX200 Do we know what is the conclusion around being able to sign up with Axle and this not negatively impacting Octopus' IOG and Outgoing Export (from PVs) ?
IOG is a 2-tier tariff with a higher rate between 0531 and 2329 h and a lower rate between 2330 h and 0530 h.
Octopus' Outgoing export is a flat rate per kWh

o1975 Read the Octopus T&Cs. You are not permitted to sign up with anyone like Axle if you are on an Intelligent tariff. If you do Octopus are within their rights to rebill you at standard variable rates for ALL usage.
