Just clicked on my portal page and a popup appeared saying "if you want to use these features", you need to upgrade to premium.
I just hit the maybe later tab

Power graph now needs premium access

Me also. I thought local connection would remain unchanged and free?

D

Lorne It said it was active, but the app would not connect loacally, I can only see the dash on desktop so I guess if you want the app to work at all you have to sign on the dotted line

Nothing on the portal is free anymore you have to pay for that. Poor communication as always GE to the letter absolutely useless.

So I can't access anything on my android app. However I can see the basics info and access the inverter settings via the portal. I thought it was going to be through the app but not the portal. It would have been nice to get the final setup prior to the change.

You can still set-up timed charge etc, but I've moved to the 'Inverter App'

I
#8 Iguana

Ortwin You have to update your app in 'play' to get the dashboard screen back, but don't get too excited as there's not much you can do on there

And you have to press the offline option when you open the new app.

On the portal, you now can't even delete the useless blank s**t pages (asking to upgrade to premium) from the view

Anyone found the EV charger settings on their desktop ?

I found that out just after posting. Talk about going from bad to worse. How are people who struggle with technology supposed to work out the settings. Thanks for the android inverter app.

I wonder if I could replace the inverter and keep my two 9.5Kw batteries.

I'm terrible with Tech also!!!!! @ortwin but managed to bungle my way through.

Since earlier, I've decided to move to Axle energy and this has meant I get the full app back, they essentially are a online power station that take power with the grid needs it - guarantee you £1/KWH for every event

That seems to good to be true, especially when I only get 12p per Kw.

Will keep you guys updated, account view below and obviously nothing recorded in there yet.

As soon as as I get any notifications or events, will update back here

Did you get the login for the premium GivEnergy account?

E
#18 Eamonnogorman

There is an argument here, for anyone still under warranty that this makes the solution not fit for purpose!

S
#19 SteveCook

Just tried to sign up.
I am on :-
import - Agile Octopus
export - Agile Outgoing Octopus

Axle does not have the import tariff, so I cant get any further

I
#20 Iguana

SteveCook no, as soon as I signed up with Axle, I went back into my Givenergy App and it automatically upgraded to the premium view.

I'm with EON and both import and export tarifs were listed on the Axle webpage

Well premium tier access came back on the portal last night and has now just gone away again. Logged out and logged back in. Got a notification message the issue had been resolved.
Still standard tier.
Looks like the fix has failed. Doh.........

I
#22 Iguana

Sorry to hear that!

Has it happened to anyone else?

J

Yes unfortunately. I signed up to Axle last week before Giv Energy and Axle decided that we could have Premium for free.

Logging onto the Internet access or Mobile gave me Premium service, that failed about 1pm today and it now shows as Standard service.

Sent an email to Giv Energy asking for clarification.

🙁

Re-activated my axle account on Tuesday, Givenergy app automatically applied premium account within 2 mins then later that day it reverted back to standard as per the Giv knowledge base. Fix was applied first thing Wed morning and been on Premium again ever since with no issues. Still slow in local mode but if you toggle cloud button it's much faster.

JOHN_ELEY Yes unfortunately. I signed up to Axle last week before Giv Energy and Axle decided that we could have Premium for free.

You should have received an email from Axle inviting you to re-authenticate your inverter, then you'd get free premium access.

I have issues too,
Signed up for axle, all good and dashboard with full info.
Went back later and got the need subscription notice
Checked with the axle web page and I have joined alls in order
Tried to re-subscribe but their e-mail with the link dosen't have a link
Deleted and re-installed the phone app. no change
Noticed above thread stating re-activate inverter but I cannot get further than the notice requiring subscription.
Is there another avenue left to explore?

DD Not received email from Axle but logged back into their Website and under SETTINGS / TROUBLESHOOTING there is an option to RECONNECT DEVICE, followed this and now reconnected to Giv Energy as PREMIUM.

Thanks for the pointer. 😀

Just noticed that Axle have scheduled in their first event for me, 3rd June 08-09 am, will be interesting to see how much that is likely to take.
Forecast looks cloudy/sun tomorrow, so may top the battery up overnight to make sure it's full for 8am.

Will update once it's taken place and any negative impacts

I've got one tomorrow 03/06/26 between 8-9 as well. I schedule it myself though. West Midlands region.

I
#39 Iguana

Well, 8;30 and Axle is taking the Lecky from my battery currently 2.5kwh

J
#40 Jon-boy

My battery also exporting. I noticed that Axle API changed my mode to "Timed Export" at 7:51 so not on ECO mode for 8/9 minutes but solar generating 1kW by then so base load covered, no big deal. Lets see if setting are restored ok. I see that others say they schedule themselves. I use HA and could write an automation to do this but assume Axle will still try and change settings or is there a way to stop this?

I
#41 Iguana

Have checked, eco mode back on and all settings back to where they were before the forced export, so far so good! I'm estimating I must have exported above 2KWH

C
#42 CW

Iguana I'm estimating I must have exported above 2KWH

Whilst it is still an estimate, the new GE app shows daily figures including grid export. It's under the Direct Control Option, and then the Read Only tab

I
#43 Iguana

lol forgot about that :-)

Looks like 2kwh was correct, so about £2!

Buying premium does not work for delegated accounts!

And if your delegated account has the subscription it won't work for your primary account - so it is PER USER not per household...

Premium offered a free trial for the first month... I think they may be hammered from refunds.

[Meanwhile, the Givenergy Inverter app by Andrew Miller is free - but ideally get your wifi router/network connection to stay on the same local IP address and remember to hit Collect Stats in Settings on the top right of the home screen. And turn on notifications.]

I
#45 Iguana

CW turned out it was 1.75 KWH exported during the one hour period
