Original all installer no longer trading

I would like to move to a new installer as my original installer is no longer trading, I have found a reputable new installer, emailed GivEnergy the new installer’s details, initially had a automated reply stating they would be in touch within 7 working days this was over 2 months ago, phoned the helpline number just cuts of after you press the option key.

Has anyone else had the issue?

Thank you.
I was aware that that part of the GivEnergy had gone into administration, I did contact them early March.
Just wondering if anyone else had tried to move to a new installer and what route they took, as my original installer has not been contactable.

Why don't you ask on the GE Facebook group. I don't have social media myself but I do know that some very knowledgeable ex GE staff are on there and may know the answer to your questions. I hope you find someone as the current situation not knowing anything is a nightmare.

Chip My installer stopped supporting GE after they installed it for me. In early April I had an issue and they would not help because they no longer install GE equipment. I asked another installer who still installed GE equipment at the time and they would not help because they did not install the equipment. Full catch 22. Now GE have gone into administration. I think the short answer is you are on your own. No installers. No warranty. Just like the rest of us. However if you look through this forum you may find specific answers to whatever your problem is. They fixed the problem I had.

Chip No reputable business is going to take responsibility for equipment from a bankrupt company where warranties have been voided.

ANYONE agreeing to do this months after GE entered administration is NOT reputable. They're only interested in ripping out the GE kit and repalcing it with whatever makes them most money.

Edit - and if your proposed installer didn't know GE was going bust in March then they must have been living under a rock!

Chip there is unfortunately no process to move your kit from one installer to another in the portal after givenergy ltd went into administration

The new installer may be able to recommission your hardware under his installer id on the portal, that is your only option

But I’d ask why would you want to do this? If your kit is still working fine with your old defunct installer, I’d just leave it as is.
