Just rolled the new version of the Givenergy app off my android phone and gone back to v4..0.4 and its all working fine on premium
Will see how long it works for.
might put my spare phone uop to v4.0.5 and see how that develops over the coming weeks/months

Nice how did you go about it?

Downloaded a v4.0.4 xapk file (also copied one off my old phone at v4.0.2)

Then installed APKPure to my phone and used it to install the v4.0.4 xapk after uninstalling v4.0.5 first.

wrighar Thanks will give it a go

the Givenergy API has 1 weeks grace from the 26th May so I suspect next Tuesday you may find it won't work anymore. (The app runs on the API albeit a specific mobile version of it)

A question for you the Smart Plugs that quite a number of people are asking about and GES have deleted from the new App, were they a local app only dependant device or were/are they controlled from the cloud? As I can see in the screen capture above, they are appearing in the pre GES Premium App.

wrighar Nice workaround. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

duplada they were rebranded Tuya plugs (I had to point out they had left their Tuya API keys and many other .env stuff that shouldn't be seen) in the app many years ago!
I would like to say it was through super hacking but I literally just unzipped the apk and they were just sat there...

So you can probably just resync them with Tuya Smart Home or whatever it's called.
Or flash them with local tuya or whatever it's called (sorry smart plugs aren't my thing i never found a use case personally where i needed oe)

As an aside, someone has just said on the AxleVPP whatsapp group,

Install the polar-ess app (givenergy app reskinned) and set to not auto update
It's not been updated and gives premium style access on the old format....
