The short answer is for me so far so good.

The Free Givenergy App is OK but I have not been using it hardly at all and perhaps more about trying to convince you to pay the monthly fee for more feature.

I use Rubicubes Android App mainly to monitor what's happening and change any settings. It works well and suit my needs.

I have downloaded the Tuya App to monitor and control my smart plugs.

I do not wish to have someone else control my batteries charge and discharge and while that may not maximise my payback I am happy enough to export and self consume as I wish. I just charge at night on my cheap tariff.

I do not feel the need to go down the HA route presently but may dabble with it on a spare PC Tablet setting up a VM for HA/Givetcp and see what it can offer. Its main use would be to have a decent dashboard and gather data.

The longer term strategy is just to let the system run and hopefully long enough to pay my investment back but I will deal with any issues when it gets there or it fails.

It is good to see that some ex GE people are offering support services it could be very useful for folk particularly those that do not have a helpful installer or their installer no longer exists either.

So, as I said, so far so good it's rubbish that we have all lost the warranty on our kit. One thing to consider maybe is if a new supplier when looking for a replacement system is if they offer insurance backed warranties. It is interesting that I am looking at Heat pump installation just now and looking heat geeks all their stuff is back by insurance including deposits.

As an aside nothing really to do with GE but having a Zappi EV charger they operate something they call Gridpay which pays £5-£10 a month to charge the car when their system wants to to take advantage of or avoid grid load. So, far I am being paid to do what I would do anyway and charge at night during my overnight tariff. Thus far it has meant I have earned enough to pay for charging the car and a bit extra.

Haven't used the GE app, nor has my inverter contacted GE for some time.

HA/GivTCP works fine. Found an old Raspberry Pi 3 in a drawer so might use that with a cheap LCD touchscreen as a "kiosk" for the dashboard.

@Rubikcube 's app continues to be my go-to on the phone. Serves as a good sanity checker/backup for me. Reliable.

Axle gives me the pro GE app/API which I give to Wonderwatt which runs everything smoothly for me.
I have Rubiks on a cheap android tablet as back up and will look at Predbat online rather than HA in the future if necessary.

Happy atm.

Yes it's very very good and gives us access to information the GE wanted to hide away.

Yes Wonder Watt is amazing for Scheduling I wouldn't schedule anything on GE software.

I have deleted the app and have no intention of reinstalling it, nor have I visited the GE dashboard. Doing everything in HA GivTCP and very happy. Faultless operation and remote access with Tailscale. I was toying with the idea of reinstalling the app so I could delete my account, but that might be a step too far.
