When you set the timings for charging etc and you do it from overseas. What time will your local inverter use? For example if I say battery should charge from 11pm and I put that in the system will the system use local 11pm time or will it use the 11pm time from where I currently are?
Pieterharting If you are using a vpn to reach back to your inverter then the app you are using will in effect have local (on the same network) as your inverter. And the settings you see will be those set on the inverter. And in the case of times this means you are seeing UK (or your inverters time). If you are a premium user and are accessing your inverter via the web portal then the easiest way to check is to look at what time it shows for the inverter and then do the sums to work out whether that is your overseas time or the correct amount behind or ahead of Uk time.

The inverter has its own clock, and has no notion of timezones, so the number that is set into the register is the local (inverter) time that will be used.
(Some embedded devices always run on UTC, but GE have traditionally adjusted the inverter's clock back and forth with BST. Not sure if that will continue to happen for non-subscription users.)
I don't think the app does anything "clever" like map back and forth between app time and inverter time. Are you using the web portal to set the time, or VPN with the app ?
