Another PR disaster: Givenergy just deleted ALL the messages and bug reports

According to their email I just got, there is a new app update. They've not managed to respond to emails within 14 days. 🙄

Further down their email essay they wrote:
real humans read every one of your emails and respond to most; we do not use AI for this

We have received over 3,200 emails so far

and then they are "resetting" the email queue for Givenergy Premium on June 11th (ie they just hit bulk delete).

Well they could have saved themselves a few thousand emails by releasing an app that actually worked... and keeping the old one until the new one was fully tested and working...

ugh... I'm only seeing this email because my other half attempted the "free trial" of Premium which didn't even work.

New version, New bugs, New emails.

I can see it makes sense if there are only 3 and they have to develop, test and release as well.

It would be a lot better if they didn't yet again make claims that are obviously not true, like claiming "people read the emails" when they bulk deleted all the unread ones.
They could also have setup an autoresponder with the most commonly reported faults/major bugs listed instead of ignoring then deleting thousands.

It is very much the same poor attitude that Givenergy had, overpromising, failing to deliver on that, and sounding vaguely gaslighting about it which just makes it much worse.

The app worked better before and they chose a full release instead of beta release - high risk strategy.

These guys really are not long for the world. This business will disappear in a few months.

They are a waste of space I wouldn't trust them for anything anymore I was prepared to give them a chance and said so. Though their performance so far has been unprofessional, and their attempt at a new App is frankly abysmal.

Zakalwe This business will disappear in a few months.

It'll disappear just as soon as the GE Ltd administrator pulls the plug - GE Software Ltd owes millions to GE Ltd and they can't pay it.

The real question is who buys it after its forced into administration.....

My app is working perfectly.

Octopus, perhaps? They installed a lot of GE systems, and already play in the flexibility market.

Since the latest update I have found the app to be very much the same as the GE app before administration with some extras and works for me. Without this trio and therefore no app I would have a worthless setup. I know from all the previous posts that there are alternatives, so long as you are tech knowledgeable, which I am not. I am an old man and know that nothing is perfect, it being easy to be negative. There must be tens of thousands out there with GE systems who are in the same boat as me and appreciate the work this trio are trying to do.

DD Regulatory issues mean that's unlikely. Just for a start it'd mean Octopus directly controlled EON-installed batteries (for EON customers)......

When you pay, you expect a level of support. Not just "F'it, we’ve dealt with a ton and the rest can go kick rocks".

But also remember, these are the same people who used to offer that world class GivEnergy support /s.

They are not in a growth market. The number of GE customers is what it is and will only go down. The number of subscribers wont increase.

I didnt sign up as I felt the tone of their emails is one of arrogance and very dismissive.

Re. the posts in the other place:- If you couldn't say something constructive, why say anything at all? Ad hominem attacks and ranting won't help their very young business (they all lost their GE jobs) or the people who are relying on them for continuity.

mrand31 That was not a rant but facts. There is nothing constructive to say they are out of their depth and haven't got a clue how to produce a working app or how to run a company. The clock is ticking for those guys end of story.

Vestas how can GE Software, as a newly formed independent company, owe GE millions?

mrand31 I feel that the Ad Hominen is coming from you.

I posted legit criticism based on an email I quoted.

GE App is run by only 3 people - as they also said in their email. Yes it sucks that they and the 13 or so other people lost their jobs.
But the words "we are sorry" would have gone a long way.

My title was about how badly they handle their communication with customers and that's one of the easier things that they could actually change.

As for your attempt to silence criticism, it is not welcome here.

Rubikcube In addition to this, here's a snippet of the administrator's report - specifically "connected companies debts". As can be seen GE Software owe GE Ltd £6.2 million & they have no means to repay that debt. The creditors meeting concluded on 10 June and we'll see what was agreed soon - can't see anyone letting Osler off the hook as they're all his companies (every single one).

Edit - there's a high probability that GE Software Ltd are now trading while insolvent, which will leave Mr Osler personally responsible for debts. We can but hope....

... and they are AGAIN not acknowledging or replying to emails...
