AC3.0 add another battery ?

I currently have an AC3.0 inverter with 4 x 2.5Kw battery. I believe the AC3.0 can support 5 batteries. Do I have to add anther 2.5kW unit or can I add a larger one ?

GusTheSadGeek you can mix and match sizes. The newer battery should be wired first, e.g. the master battery not the slave. But why anyone would pay to extend a system that is no longer under support, no warranty, etc, seems a risky investment!

Well it's extend (if I can find a good price) or throw it all away and pay for a new setup. I am hoping others may want rid of their GE system - so I can get a cheap battery.

I've just added a second 9.5kw battery and it was plug and play, powered everything down, connected the new battery, set the dip switches on the second battery to slave, powered back up and the inverter detected it. It's been working ever since.

I haven't paid for the premium subscription but even if I log in and go into the inverter it knows it has 2 packs and 19kwh available.

Theres some bargains pop up on ebay. mine had only done 161 charge cycles. I looked into adding a battery last year and it was nearly 4 times the amount and was told it it had to be done by a GE installer and commissioned so shelved GE went tits up I started watching ebay for one to pop up local at a decent price.

Andrewz61 This is really usefull to know. Where did you buy the linking cables from? I understand the connecting cables and blanking plug are not included in the box with GE Batteries?

It came with the battery, I've seen both types on ebay though
