Hi all can a new battery still be installed on to an existing system, i have installed additional in the past by deleting the commission and then started a new but I am concerned if any problems are encounter this would leave the system as an expensive door stop? Customer brought the battery himself discounted by local CEF!

Bridgemark I'm not sure you actually need to commission in the portal
Just make the new battery the master, daisy chain the old battery/batteries off that one, change the dip switches accordingly, then power the batteries back on.
Assuming you're an electrician based on what you've wrote and if anyone else is reading this DC is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Or if you do know what your doing and accidentally touch something you shouldn't. Etc etc.
I guess this is the dilemma for any installer who gets contacted by a GE customer now and wants like this something added/changed etc. So, no risk of trashing the customer's warranty (which turns out is useless anyway) but what if they now break or degrade the customers system ? Is that now down to whether they have insurance or up to customers to carry the risk ?
