Before the new app my batteries would charge to 100% by day if enough solar and only then send solar to grid. Now they charge minimally by solar and send lots to grid with only minimal solar partial recharging of batteries. Thus I am importing more (off peak) than I used to. How do I sort this? I have EMS and 3 single phase inverters. Thanks for suggestions…

Have you got a premium account?
What kit have you got?

Hi,

Have you checked your settings on the EMS that plant is enabled and time discharge is set correctly. I would also look at your fuse board just in case any switches have tripped. On my EMS system I have setup the batteries to charge up on cheap electricity overnight to 100% as I am on IOG. I have noticed that I do see some random grid use during the day but not a lot. Can you ask your installer to have a look at the system remotely to check if all ok.

What does the GivEnergy portal show
Any notifications?
Is everything online?
Are you using any 3rd party to control the charging? GivEnergy smart tariff?
Have any of your settings somehow got changed? Does the remote control history show any changes to settings?

What settings to put on ems for discharge time or charge time. !
I can charge at cheap rate23.30-05.30 so I have set charge sessions to
23.30-23.59 and 00.00-05.30 for charge, and for discharge 5.31-23.29. From my recollection the discharge used to be set to overlap the charge with the old app and that “charge” in those days meant only charge from grid hence allowing charge from solar out of the set charging hours.
(Solar is an Enphase system with a microinverter on each panel)
My Octopus account says no api in use.

I am using the same settings that you listed for discharge and charge time on my EMS system with plant enabled on the EMS.

I just remembered that I did have a problem with the app a few weeks ago not charging the batteries correctly on my system.

Maybe you are having the same issue. If you downloaded the EMS manual, find link below

https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/pdfs/uk-ems-installation-manual.pdf

To confirm if you have the same issue, you will need to use the remote control option to look at the default values on your three inverters. You can look at your settings, I found I had the same time for start and end for the AC charge and discharge. The end times were not showing the correct default values in both of my inverters as outlined in the Inverter remote control settings within the EMS manual.

I had to change the end time from 00:00 to 23:59 that fixed the issue for me.

If your installer is still around you could ask them to check for you.
