Fire fire!

It's clear that house batteries are installed almost anywhere inside or outside of properties. My AIO is inside a garage where a car sometimes goes. This has been a diesel then petrol but now an EV.
My question is " What type of fire extinguisher do you have in the vicinity of your batteries?"
A new classification, Class L, has been added to ISO 3941 to specifically cover Lithium-ion batteries. Although I don't intend to to tackle a major fire, evacuation is best, a minor incident that could be swiftly dealt with may slow down the situation before the boys and girls in their uniforms arrive.

Has anyone any thoughts please.

GivEnergy batteries are Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄), so that might need some different thought

Plus fire extinguishers should generally be used to make your escape, e.g. if the only exit is blocked by fire, use the extinguisher in an attempt to get out.

Not worth trying to put out a lithium ion fire, just get the f*** out. LFP is much safer thankfully, although if I recall correctly, if there's fumes coming out, don't breath them in, just get the f*** out. 😁

No domestic extinguisher reliably stops a lithium fire once it's in thermal runaway. That 9kg Screwfix extinguisher won't help. Standard advice is to call emergency number, tell them it's a battery fire, and evacuate.

Same here. AICO do some nice ones and if you cant wire them linked, you can add wireless modules to link them.
