Can we still update firmware?

Hello. I held off updating battery firmware to the latest version (I’m about one or two versions behind) and I’m having an issue where I’m wondering whether actually updating the battery would revert the settings of the inverter and battery.

My question is if I update the battery via the GivEnergy cloud interface (I’m not paying for premium), will it work given what’s going on with GivEnergy?

If you have the option to update it should be okay.

And there's the rub.

Search around in this forum and you'll find that firmware updates are not universally seamless. You're taking a risk by updating - and there's no GE support team to shout at if there's an issue.

That said, PredSupport.com exists, for a fee. The fact that Paul L (TheDragon) heads it up makes it very credible.

Have you tried resetting everything to defaults? That might be a slightly less risky first option.

So support from GivEnergy is completely gone? Is the premium cloud feature also not a thing anymore?

Yes hardware support has completely gone. The premium app thing is a seperate entity and still a thing for now.

Maxwell not an option sadly. I was one of those impacted by First4Solar but lucky enough to have actually had the system installed.

I’m running my battery on 3015 and the inverter needs updating aswell, I would really like to update just for efficiency and more superior running of the systems but can’t bring myself to do it! should it cause an issue! Then I’m in the sh**.
