Monitor failings.

I use both the Givenergy local app and the android inverter app to monitor performance.
Over the last 2 or 3 weeks I have randomly but regularly lost signal. Both monitors fail simultaneously.
Yesterday there was no signal for 24 hours and then it came on again.
There is nothing wrong with my home network to cause drop-out and there doesn't seem to be any failure of the solar system in that it still generates, saves and exports power as I would expect.
Can anyone suggest a possible cause for this ?

When that happened to me it was caused by too many local WIFI networks interfering with the signal to the GE dongle. I guess you have a gen1 inverter with the WIFI dongle? These only use the 2.4GHz WIFI band and can only use channels 1 to 11 (they can't see channel 12 or 13).

You can get WIFI analysis apps for mobile devices which show you which channels are in use. When your GE dongle drops out, you can fire up the analyser to see what the WIFI congestion is like to check if this is indeed the problem.

The solution in this case is to put a WIFI access point right next to the GE dongle (or as close as you can get) so it is always the strongest signal the GE dongle sees.

A lot of the new broadband routers channel hop if they detect WIFI congestion and two of my neighbours' routers were hopping onto the channel my GE dongle was using and wiping out the connection to my router until they hopped away to another channel.

I did wonder about channel congestion and will check that out.
I don't appear to have a USB type dongle as, a Tigo TS4 box was fitting inside the house. This seems to do the same job, though I've no idea how it works or why it was fitted in preference to the normal dongle.
I'm trying to contact the installer to see what they say.

I think the Tigo TS4 is a solar panel optimiser and nothing to do with WIFI.
What model inverter do you have?

Ive had issues with being able to see my Giv Gen 1 AC3. If I add another mesh thingy, it interferes with the 2.4Ghz repeater I use for the Giv dongle and Enphase. ( not helped by my latest router insisting on "special" characters in its password and Enphase envoy NOT allowing special characters. Hence I need a simple 2.4hz WiFi access point.
