Is anyone had or having this issue, the Discovery used to work perfectly well when charging but now it seems to not start the charge at all.
Car app is set to the same as the Givenergy schedule. I have watched it when it is about to start and it automatically just switches off and shows the the time for the next schedule ie 24 hours.
Any help or advice would be most welcome.
EV Charger not charging at schedule times.
If you are talking about a GE EV charger then my advice is to ditch the charger and buy a Zappi. The GE EV charger is a world of pain. I had the symptoms you describe and a lot worse. I spent 6 months with an open ticket constantly trying to get it sorted with GE support. In the end GE admitted that the software was sub contracted and they had no quick way of correcting it.
I finally got so fed up with the GE EV charger not working correctly and the lack of action from GE, I bought a new Zappi, and sold my GE EV charger on (that auction site). What a difference having the Zappi has made, full integration with Octopus IOG, Automatic use of Solar Generation if there is any, and it Just works like clockwork best money I ever spent. I just plug my EV in, and set a time to be ready, charge % required, and Octopus does the rest, it is so good, no schedules to mess with, and anxiety whether or not the charger will actually work.
PRS do you have a schedule on the charger, or is it just configured to be available 24/7 for whenever the car chooses to take power?
This is what the Premium Software Guys said about the EVC
I have heard that the GivEnergy EV Charger (EVC) won't function if it can't connect to the GivEnergy servers. How can I ensure it continues to work?
There is currently no expectation of the EVC servers going offline. However, if you want to ensure that your GivEnergy EVC will still work even if it's disconnected you can do either of the following:
Register your id tag(s) to your EVC using the GivEnergy App or Portal and tap it on the EVC to start or stop a charge. This will continue to work even if the EVC is offline because the EVC itself keeps track of registered tags.
Create and enable a schedule on the EVC using the GivEnergy app or Portal that charges the car at the times you require. This will cause the EVC to start a charge at the scheduled time as long as a car is plugged in, regardless of whether the EVC is online, because schedules are stored on and executed by the EVC itself. If your vehicle supports setting a schedule, it is recommended to set a 24-hour schedule on the EVC and a more specific schedule on the vehicle.
Please note, Plug and Go (also known as Plug and Charge) will not function if the EVC is not online as this functionality is provided by the GivEnergy servers. You don't need to turn it off, but please be aware that plug and go will not activate if the EVC is offline. If you would like a charge to start as soon as your EV is plugged in, you can create a 24-hour schedule as described above.
I also seem to remember that they said to reconfigure the charger from Cloud Control and Enable Option A "Charger Installed with No Internet"
