Well i cant find my exact issue on here so here goes.
I have the inverter set to Eco in the app and smart scheduler for the battery so it fills with solar and discharges when the sun goes down and lasts till sun up. Fine.
But now i just added a Zappi Glo EV charger - set to use solar surplus mostly , but occasionally use a scheduled overnight charge on Eon’s Drive cheap rate.
Ah. But the battery discharges and empties straight into the car of course + grid top up.
Ok, so set battery to charge not discharge at same hours as the EV charge someone says. Yeah, but that just imports at max rate from the grid to fill battery and the car at about 11kwh. No I just want solar to top up the battery not the grid.
Ah. It all works as I want if I change battery mode to ‘Pause Charge & Discharge’ but this is a manual on / off that would have to be done every night and morning. Is there no way to schedule battery pause for the hours I set to charge the EV? There’s a half hourly scheduler bar but only has options for Use / Sell / Buy. It needs pause.
Battery discharge v EV charge conflict
NoMorePeas Hi, if you select the hamburger icon (top left) on the app's Home Dashboard. Then select Direct Control. Under the Control tab swipe the headings left until you can see Charge & Discharge Schedules. If you then scroll down you should see the options to Pause the Battery and set times.

Thanks, for a moment there your suggestion looked promising.. found Charge & Discharge Schedules ok but just lots of AC and DC charge slots but none of those in your screenshot are there. Turned off Smart Scheduler on Dashboard in case of a conflict but no change. Tried searching in Direct Control All for ‘Battery’ and ‘Pause’ - nothing (other the items under ‘Battery’ Hmmm. Only option found in app is in 2nd screenshot - but no schedule.

NoMorePeas which model of inverter do you have? I think gen-1 and possibly AC don't have timed pause.
Simplest solution to to adjust the wiring so that the inverter cannot see the Zappi.
(For most, it's better to charge car at cheap rate and get paid to export solar. But that's different if you are on FIT with deemed export.)
It’s described as a GIV-AC3.0 so i guess not compatible? I did find a way to schedule with half hour slots that included Pause but when try to apply it said ‘this inverter cannot mix pause and use’. Ah well.
I have the 2011 FIT£££ scheme so…. Thanks for the tips.

There is a feature of some firmwares that allows you to use discharge slots as a timed pause-discharge. On my inverter, setting up a timed discharge slot with a minimum soc will honour that soc even if the enable-discharge flag is not set. This with a high reserve, it acts as a pause discharge.
But if the AC inverter has its own firmware branch, probably behaves differently.
