I hope they ban Jason Osler from being a director while they're at it, that's long overdue as well.
I've kept this for my own amusement but would people want something like this?
It's entirely local ESP32 for reads and writes to the inverter?

hoggy Yes, I'd be interested in this - I've got a "spare" ESP32 with screen (from a work project I've just finished), and was thinking of writing such a thing, though also want to incorporate heat pump consumption into the display (somehow). Though was thinking of just making it a slave display for RPi which is already collecting all the info / managing the inverter.
DD this version has 'listen mode' you can toggle on and off so it either polls or something else does and it picks it up.
I'll tidy things up and put it out (the screen part is very much bespoke code for that specific screen though - the original idea was to replace my thermostat with it so it controls both things)

Maxwell That's what has triggered it, however to get to this stage GE Software Ltd have ignored at least 2 registered letters from Companies House, hence they are considered to be no longer trading.
Hopefully they go under as they are clearly trading while insolvent (£6.2mill owed to GE Ltd and repayment demanded by the GE Ltd administrator 3 months ago) which is a criminal offence.
Also Osler is himself committing an offence as he's failed to complete ID verification - that was due over 3 months ago.
Time to wind this dodgy organisation up once and for all.
Maxwell not a lot of difference other than it’s cheaper to buy an ESP32 than a pi I guess (I’ve tried this on a £7 one which runs fine)
Flip side of that is it’s a £7 device… so me running wifi, watchdogs, web server & API, mqqt, modbus TCP & then a screen (& also read / write to SD card if device has it) is quite tricky to balance with just 240MHz & 500kb of fast SRAM to make it fit in.
Barring SD Card writing, direct to inverter USB & MQQT though it is all ready.

hoggy Sounds good, I've been meaning to find something to do basic controls and goes on a wall.
Edit - Pi's are insanely expensive now. As is pretty much anything with reasonably fast memory.

I guess they could do such a thing to get themselves local access.
I think Axle have said that they're happy for users to make the required configuration changes themselves, though perhaps they'd lose some of their bargaining power since relying on users is likely to give them less uptake.

I think its far more likely that Osler will transfer the software "assets" to another company. Can't see someone like him letting go of an asset he can monetise for the next decade. Money for nothing after all - or VERY close to it.

hoggy I have avoided getting accounts with aggregators/shippers like aliexpress since I binned my Amazon account back in 2021. Makes buying online slightly more inconvienent/less impulse buy but actually works as I end up with less crap 🙂
Basically I need something cheap which I can put on a wall & anyone can use. I keep getting distracted by other things but there's less chance of that as we head into autumn/winter.

AnonymousHooman I have control via a Pi5 and all that needs is a "slave" display/terminal somewhere else really, which I could do with a spare Pi3.
However laziness and @hoggy doing it anyway, coupled with very cheap h/w is attractive 🙂

Has anyone heard from any of the software guys recently and can confirm they are still active. Was a flurry of app updates and comms when the subscription service went live, but not heard anything for a while.
That just sounds like a fudge to get round being struck off. What lawful or business justification can there be that permits this sort of sleight of hand….

What I'd like to know is what's going on with the £6.2mill GE Software owe GE Ltd. Attempting to transfer assets while GE Software is obviously trading while insolvent is a criminal offence & the administrator needs to sort it out, assuimg he's not up to his eyeballs in this as well....

He can stop it being struck off by communicating with Companies House. Likewise anyone GE Software Ltd owes money to (GE Ltd) can prevent it being struck off by applying to Companies House.
Therefore the logical conclusion must be that the administrator of GE Ltd is fine with GE Software Ltd being struck off while owing £6.2mill to GE Ltd?
Or is there a deal which leaves the preferential creditor (JO himself) with the monetisable assets (anyone still using portal etc - you're the "assets") while leaving all the other creditors with nothing?
I think we can probably see the way this is going. Those of you using the portal can enjoy funding JO's retirement for the lifespan of your equipment....

What i don't understand is why do they allow someone who has failed to submit their confirmation statement for GE Software and who is the only person in control of GE Software then be allowed to take control of it from another company (IEMCS) ? But the system clearly allows this to happen so why did he choose to do it with a totally new company rather than use his existing Osler Holdings, or this also bogged down in who owes who/what ?

Maxwell The way it works is you can let a company be struck off because you don't want it anymore, it isn't trading and it has no creditors. Its basically a cleanup method for companies house - publish the strike off notice in the Gazette & if nobody objects then two months later it happens. Its most often used
However GE Software Ltd DOES have creditors - they owe GE Ltd £6.2mill and the administrator of GE Ltd should have objected.
I don't think we've seen the last waltz yet....

Where does this £6.2M come from? I think I've asked this before. Is there anything that point to what this amount represents? Is it rent on the rooms the chaps used in the office? The alleged value of the software that they developed or something else?
