Anyone know what the new red dustbin does, in the inverter section of the web portal? The alt text says it is 'Delete Dongle', which seems a rather risky function to put on a regularly used page...

Has anyone tried clicking it, to see if it is protected by an 'Are You Sure?' check?

Not seeing that. Are you logged on with engineer access?

Not seeing it as a User.

ToothyChris Not seeing a dustbin but then the example looks nothing like my inverter card. Different layouts for single versus multiple inverters? (Mine is single).

Ditto, nothing like mine. with a single inverter.

Hey it's fun with the lads trying to improve the web interface, android and iphone apps and the various firmwares all the time. kudos to them. πŸ˜€

mrand31 @Woodstock Are you looking at the Inverter section on the sidebar?
You may need to scroll all the way to thr right

Yup. Except that ours are 'My inverter' not 'My inverters'...

@Adam-Reynolds

Hi Adam, could you possibly shed some light on this new button? It appeared a month ago, but I don't believe there has been any explanation in the GE 'What's New' updates...

Thanks

No delete Dongle for me. Just one Inverter

Single inverters won’t show it but you can force it’s hand by going to: portal.Givenergy.cloud/inverter

By default single inverters default to their own page: portal.Givenergy.cloud/inverter/<SerialNumber>

Two years later and the Delete dongle red dustbin appeared on my inverter card a couple of days ago. Did anyone ever find out what it does?

I've had a few new ones, Inverter Meters (which works)
BatteryData (which doesn't)

Someone try it, I bet an 'Are you sure" will appear.

Then I might be wrong πŸ™‚

Then just as suddenly as it appeared it mysteriously disappeared again, removing the temptation! πŸ™‚

Developer probably wanted to see how many people would click on delete dongle πŸ€ͺ
