Why does the Battery Type keep changing in the inverter General tab from Lead Acid to Lithium ? I've asked the question in the feedback five times now with no reponse.

Not seen that myself, so can't help, might be an installation/commissioning issue?

Lithium is what GivEnergy use. Unless you have a home brew and a BMS that talk to Giv

Does it coincide with any warnings or notifications? Like BMS communication error or something?
You can technically set them up with a non GE battery in "Lead Acid" mode but you shouldn't be seeing that with a GE battery.
Mine had a weird glitch early on where it forgot what Battery it had and defaulted to lead acid mode (which also shows its hand as not discharging more than 1600W for whatever reason) although that was permanent and not intermittent like yours is.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thats interesting... Any more info on which 3rd party BMS can talk to a MK1 5kW hybrid inverter, and which communication interfaces it uses? Pretty please. Currently have 16 EVE280k cells on their way from China.

Brookydave Sorry I dont know. I doubt GE will offer to support 3rd party BMS either.
Vicron Im sure do though

Thanks, that is the route I am heading - Victron. Sad really that you cannot expand the Giv hybrid system 🙁

Brookydave you can. But needs GE batteries

Anything not GE Lithium is not warranted so your hands are tied really.
Is it possible to use others, probably, (given by what you find rummaging around)
Is it worth the hassle & risk - nope.

Thanks all - Just applied to the DNO for a 15kW 3 phase Victron setup with large battery. I will concentrate on that.
