On the portal inverter card, directly beneath the image of the inverter, there are three figures quoted:

Energy Today
Energy Total
Power now

I can't quite understand what these refer to - what are their definitions? Is it the energy actually consumed by the inverter in losses?

Today
Number of AC kWh in and out combined from the inverter. Either charging or discharging the batteries.
Total
As above, but since commissioning. Is total inverter life usage
Power now
AC energy in +ve charging batteries. Or AC out -ve discharging batteries.

Hope that helps

Makes sense, but, the figures just don't add up for me.

For example, the "today" figure is 4kWh. Yet "today", the battery has discharged by 4.5kWh, and charged by 3.4kWh. Total 7.9 in and out.

For me the "today" figure matches "Combined generation today" and the "total" figure matches "Combined generation total" (both found in My inverter, Inverter data, Meter data).

Didn't this come up before somewhere on here?
Think it's different things if your Hybrid or AC but can't remember what exactly.

hoggy Exactly, the figures will show different things depending on the type of inverter: hybrid or AC.

Mine is AC coupled, and the figures bear no relationship to anything that is happening or has happened! I'll report it.

wilfleek Mine is AC coupled too. Do your figures not match the Meter data categories above? For me they appear to represent the amount of load that has been met from the battery (not the amount the battery has discharged which is always higher).

My battery total discharge is 1,374.65kWh, the Inverter energy total is 1,177.2kWh.
Is the difference inverter losses? Seems a lot.

The other figures bear no comparison with any of the meter figures in the top card.
