Battery Discharge 2x Load usage

I see my battery discharge in eco mode, is approx twice my usage - see image
Anyone shed light on why this should be pls?

Where is the image?

Anyway, in order to cover the full house load, the battery will discharge more than the load. I would say that is normal. How much more, twice more... I don't know.

Took a look at our own figures for last night when running on battery - for a house load varying between 150W and 900W through the night, the battery discharge level was 50W to 100W higher, (I guess to cover inverter losses etc.) certainly not double.

I would expect the inverter has its own built-in metering of the DC battery power in/out, rather than relying on the BMS comms to each battery.
Have you got 2 batteries connected to 1 inverter, with 1 battery not performing correctly?

Given the household consumption is not directly metered, so is always calculated from the values that are directly metered, it could be an error on 1 of the meters.

The inverter has a built-in meter for AC input/output, and solar PV input (if a hybrid inverter), then a physically separate grid meter (EM115 with Modbus comms cable back to the inverter).

Of the reported power values, are there any that can be verified on another device?

From anyone who is using the EPS output, how is it represented on the power graph?
Is it shown as a separate coloured line, or is it bundled in with the standard Load Power (in green)?

@Simon_C i have 2 batteries and 2 inverters, and don't see any obvious errors

As you will see in other posts, the use of two batteries and two inverters (which is also the config. I have) is not fully supported by the software yet. You will find that many of the values you see on the app or portal are just not credible. Apparently GE is working on a software upgrade, with rumours of a release anytime between October and Christmas.

The good news is that, broadly speaking, the system does work reasonably well, although it does do a few odd things occasionally (like discharging one battery into the other).

ivell i have 2 hybrids and 2 batteries and have had similar problems of a double discharge. My theory is that both inverters are responding to the load. I have to say that I wish I had bought a different set up with one inverter and batteries daisy chained together. The benefit of hindsight!

I think the EMS might be fixing these issues from what has been alluded to. At least I hope so, as I see similar issues at times with my 2xAC3…

DT42 We also have two hybrids, each with its own battery. In my experience, the portal charts and reports aren't always right but if you look at the data from each inverter for the same period and compare that with other data (energy supplier's meter and EV charger for example) they are working well together. From an electrical engineering/physics point of view, unless there's a fault, you cannot get double discharge. All you can get is a portal that is confused about whether to sum or average values.

@Smk82 My understanding is that the EMS will take over control of the (naughty AC-coupled) inverters and make them work properly together. I wouldn't expect it to collate input/output data but that could be a benefit to the portal developers if it did.
