There is a chance I might actually get a gen2 9.5kwh battery to add to my gen1 8.2kwh attery and ac3 inverter .. has anyone seen a wiring configuration for this , will I get the connecting cables FOC as informed from givenergy they are are freee or will I be ripped off as part of the deal . watch this space for an update faily soon...
You need a GE1 GE2 cable.
Has connector one end. Bare wires the other. Battery and BMS.

Thinking about it you'll need 2 cables.
As the 9.5 should be master.
So 1 cable battery to inverter. Another battery to battery.

The 2 new cable types with at least an orange connector one 1 end are not normally provided with a new Gen 2 9.5 kWh battery, unlike the Gen1 batteries which came with a suitable cable.
Simon_C My gen2 9.5kwh batteries that arrived last week both came supplied with cables although not in the box. The supplied cable will fit straight from gen2 battery to the gen1 inverter. A second cable will be needed to connect the two batteries together because as already mentioned the new 9.5 kwh battery will need to be the master, this will be the exact same cable, a different cable is needed to connect two gen2 batteries together.
well its delivery day and my battery's arrived and now I have to purchase new cables as they have not been supplied by (ITS Technologies ) so the words in my head are buyer beware .I have been ripped off after paying a premium price for the battery's and waiting three months for them . At the time of ordering there was no indication anywhere that new cables would be needed not even on the givenergy main web site . Am I pissed off a bit ? you bet
@GeorgeRawding Looks like the distributers need another education in supplying a cable with each battery.
A quick question for anyone in the know, We are having a new 9.5 KWh battery added next week to our existing setup of AC-3.0 and 1st gen 5.2kWh battery. My understanding is that the old battery will need to be disconnected from the inverter, the new 9.5KWh battery connected in its place and the old 5.2 connected to the new battery as slave. Therefore two new cables required, both gen1 to gen2. Unfortunately only 1 cable has been delivered. Does anyone know if it’s mandatory or simply recommended to connect the larger battery directly to the inverter ?
It would be helpful to know what the requirements are before the installer arrives next week.

Are all people asking questions are DIYers as installer should know answer to this questions and if not i would not let him touch my system. Or they buy battery, install them self and ask GIVEnergy to commission battery?

JohnDawson No absolutely no. Just fev topics down there is a thread about DIY battery installing and conclusion was that there is no option to install battery by anyone except GIV qualified electrician. So I would likt to find out why people asking about cables etc as to install battery they need call someone and its up to them to install it properly with correct cables.

I think I was the one who elicited this rather short and unhelpful response, to clarify! I’m not a ‘DIY er’ and the electrician, who will be installing the battery, does indeed know what he is doing. As it’s a bank holiday weekend and I will be unable to contact him, I am just working out if it’s worth my while flying back into the country specifically for this installation or not. There’s not much point if his office staff haven’t ordered the correct cables.

ok thanks everyone lets stop this feed now . my electrician is a givenergy installer and is rather busy so we are fixing the batterys in place at my childrens locations in readiness for his visit. nothing sinister going here no rules being roken, if anything I am going way past the post and having there entire electrical installations fully tested.
