Hello Everyone,
First time post here. I wonder if someone could help me please. I would like to understand how long a battery would discharge for till empty if, for example the house had a base load of 300watts?

Could anyone please point me in the right direction on how I could calculate this?

regards

Richard.

RichHill you'd need to convert the wattage into kWh and then you can work it out.

So 300w load is 0.3kW. If that was constant for 1 hour you'd use 0.3kWh.
Divide your battery capacity by that figure to get the number of hours you could run that load. Bear in mind DOD on some batteries and minimum thresholds you might have set.

this not true. My battery 8.2kW per every night lost 70-90% .. house used in night to 300W ...

Quassi this not true.

The information provided by @Cdent is correct. If you are using 300W at night then between say 7pm and 9am (14 hours) you will consume 300*14=4,200Wh (AKA 4.2kWh). This would be 4.2/8.2=51% of the battery capacity. In practice, you're unlikely to be consuming exactly 300W for a long period as fridge and freezer cut in/out, kettle goes on/off, TV and lights go on/off etc.

If you really do have such a low load and your 8.2kWh battery is showing a drop of 70-90%, then I'd ask Givenergy to look at your battery and maybe set a calibration.

I would also look at posting your load over 24hr vs battery SoC, if you think 300W overnight is taking 90% of your battery

Seller last week controlled system and tell me, inverter (Hybrid 5.0KW) is brow ken. Now I waiting engineer from givenergy for change inverter... at moment is 8 days waiting... System have more problems... restaring, lost wifi connect, lost solar power... max to 3kw from 5.6kW and system is 10months old... 🙁

No response from GivEnergy until today. 🙁
How to ask for a calibration battery??
