Depth of discharge clarification

Hi All,
I just had my GivEnergy solar+battery installed last week, a 5.2kW battery and 2.6kW of panels. Given all the sunny days the battery has been getting filled to capacity off the solar and running the house for part of the evening - all good. However, I notice that the battery typically only takes 3.8kW of charge to get from 4% to 100%. I thought GivEnergy batteries were 100% depth of discharge, but maybe I'm too optimistic. Is 80% DoD what others get also?

I think only the 8.2 and above batteries were 100% DoD, the smaller ones 80%. I have two 5.2s, and 80% is what I get.

Ah ok, thanks for the clarification. Should have went for an 8.2 so.

I thought they have changed the 5.2 to be 90% now
SO you get 85% out of it, with the 5% bottom end saved

Quite sure I'm no seeing anything like 90% and it's a brand new system. Sort of wish that this has been documented somewhere clearly in the sales material, I would have went for larger battery.

tk2 That would have to be taken up with your install company.

The GE batteries are all stated in their Specs and on the wholesale/retail sites, their DoD.
The 8.2 and 9.5 are 100%
5.2 used to be 80, now 90
2.6 I seem to remeber is still 80%

You could maybe have another 5.2 installed. Or persuade them to remove the 5.2 and fit a 9.5 (8.2 no longer available)
