Battery D.O.Ds & Historic specs

Hi,
Would the community be able to sanity check this as part of the (slow progress) new community Wiki.
Mainly to make sure i've got things like D.O.D "Actual Usable" figures right in kWh (the 4% lower limit I believe comes out of the "non-usable" part of the D.O.D although Facebook yesterday this proved a bit confusing!)

Also if anyone knows for certain, there appears to be conflicting info on D.O.Ds for 5.2 & 2.6 batteries. Some say these are now 90 (up from 80) some also say they are now even 100% D.O.D.
Some clarity would be nice!
Bonus points if you know when each one was "retired" so i can segregate by what you can buy now vs what you'll likely find on eBay / old stock...

Just as a note, I don't think the output of the 8.2kWh battery is 4.096kw? I thought it was more like 2.6kW?

hoggy Looks all fine to me but can't provide any further value regarding capacities and retirement dates etc. One thing I found useful in understanding the difference between actual number of cells/DoD etc is the bottom chart on the knoweldgebase. The helped me to clarify how the energy stored/available to the customer is worked out.

Ra glad you mentioned that as it'll form part of the next bit or that article of battery Power limits available through different inverters.
Currently I've put the 4kW figure as it's the max you could theoretically pull (80A x 51.2V) based on spec.
The 2.6kW limit comes from the inverter end so 2.6kW on Gen 1 Hybrids, 3.6kW from Gen 2 and 3kW from AC coupled.
Where it gets complicated is the smaller batteries: your then limited on the battery end as they cant cope.

Its just hard to piece all this together but the plan is a Matrix of at the end of what connotation of battery give you X kW through each inverter.

Tim As I've understood it (now admittedly I did actually think the opposite until yesterday) that the 4% lower boundary is infact completely contained within the "unavailable" part of the battery not the "usable" side.
It would be good if they removed this entirely from the users vision as I see no reason for it to be there (I just thought I was being done out of another 4% of my already 80% DOD 8.2!)

That sound about right to everyone?

hoggy I agree that the portal should just show 0-100% available to the user. In fairness, that page hasn't been updated since 2020. Maybe the policy on upper and lower manufacturer-set limits has changed over time? I think it would be easier to understand (at least for me) if the battery capacity was consistently quoted as the actual capacity with a % (or kWh) customer usable value. Maybe a question for @Danlambert (GivEnergy) to advise on whether the KB article stands for all their batteries or if it has changed over time, and if so what/when (which is what your article is all about)?

Once we get the new Firmware for SoC. I will do some testing. As at the moment I can fill my batteries with anything from 9 to 14kwh for 3 x 5.2s. Depending where the SoC sits that day.
I recon im loosing around 2kwh of capacity as a result of this issue. As some days i cant fill them, not enough sun, wife washing all day long etc etc

TheDragon (GivEnergy) There are so many revisions all over the place it's very hard.
There's even a video (not sure if the guy is on here) from back in 2020 from someone who has an 80% D.O.D 5.2 but claims you can ask GE for it to be pushed to 90% DOD (with some sort of impact to GE warranty) if you want!
Then people claiming they have 100% DOD 5.2s, datasheets saying the 2.6 is now 90% but can't find anyone with one!

I guess it justifies the need for a better KB to try and untangle it all.

Never even seen a 6.3 or 3.2 in the wild either but recall seeing those in the brochure back when I was scoping my install in early 2020 so thought i'd put them in anyway.
