Hi all,
I have string 1 with 3 x 400w panels (REC 48.8v ea) and string 2 with 7 x 400w panels (REC 48.8v ea). There's 4 Tigo optimisers on string 2 as there is a chimney (see picture) but the string is not performing as expected. See drone shot from this morning 09:45. PV data shows 3 panel string performing better.

Also included is the yield for the Solar during the day. Thinking I'm down a panel or the opti, isers are not connected correctly. Thoughts?

PS Don't know how to add an image????

Do you have any access to live data from the Tigo optimisers?
They do have options for visibility of data, but that may just be via the installer in your case.

Hi Simon_C,
No I don't. Wasn't part of the install. Tigo TS4-A-O version.

Images below thanks to some info from another post.

Adding Inverter data:

Thinking the 5 panels alone should give me a good yield in the image above.

What happened at about 10:30? Did the sun come out or did the chimney shadow uncover the panels?
I look at my data for the same sort of time (I have 2x strings of 6x 395w west and south ) and my west string sits at about 300-400w and the south at about 1200w.
So on the face of it they don't look wildly out - except the jump and the cause of that. Either sun or shadow - and if its shadow and you have optimises then I would question them as you have.

Hi anglefire
Thanks for reviewing this.
We had a great sunny day 30AUG22. I checked my CCTV and there was no shading until about 12ish. The panel behind the chimney was the only one covered at this point leaving the remaining 6 in sunshine. So either the optimisers are not connected correctly or the Panel behind the chimney is brining the String down. Given that 5 to 6 panels are in the open and SSE I'm expecting double of what string 1 is receiving at least until 16:00 and then there should be a transition crossover maybe?

As these are REC Alpha Panels which still perform if half the panel is shaded. I'm wondering is this having an effect on the optimiser and maybe should not be fitted? (I'll do some homework but if someone knows 😀 )

Do you know exactly which panels have the optimisers fitted?

Hi wilfleek,

Yes, there are 4 fitted as shown in the diagram below. (Note house is not directly south facing. 7 Panels SSE, 3 Panels WSW). I should point out the system is less than a month old and I haven't made the final payment until it's sorted.

Thanks.

They are in the right place, but from what you say, they are not working!
