Hi Everyone,
I was wondering whether anyone else has seen any issues regarding Battery failing to charge when the Solar generation is below 1kW.
In the morning my System seems to export any excess to the Grid until the magical 1kW threshold has been achieved then it starts to charge the battery.
I have also seen the opposite effect whereby, should the Solar energy level drop below 1kW, the battery stops charging and any excess is again exported to the Grid.
The System has always been set to "Dynamic".
Any thoughts on this scenario?
EOn Engineers tried a Firmware update but the behaviour remains the same (lost 100% battery charge and the cost of recharge!!)
Battery charging threshold
SB900 We've got two HY5 (gen1) and both send any surplus PV to battery (eg snapshots at 28W, 130W) once the house load is met and similarly discharge battery at low power levels (eg 247W+147W and 5 minutes later 166W+298W) overnight.
Hmmm I wonder if there's an issue with the EM115? What's the split between house load and export when the PV reaches 1kW? Does export fall once the battery starts to charge? You can reduce your battery charge power down to zero, but this feels like it's had a minimum set somehow somewhere.

In the morning the battery normally sits around 20% to 30% charge (normal discharge previous evening and overnight) ...house load is normally around 200 to 300W in the morning...so any excess (below the 1kW threshold) is being sent to Grid...once the magical 1kW has been reached Grid export reduces to zero and battery starts to charge.
System has and is always set to Dynamic...the battery discharge limit is set to 12% although I have seen it go lower than this.
Do you know how I could check to see if the EM115 is faulty?
Any suggestions gratefully received...its just so frustrating as EOn Solar just aren't interested!
SB900 Just to put the inverter into a known state, I'd Reset to Defaults (Portal - Inverter card - Settings tab). Reload the web page once the "Settings Saved" dialog disappears, then check that ECO is enabled. If you've got access to Givtcp, you can check individual register settings but it seems very odd to only charge the battery once PV exceeds 1kW.
