This is a question for GE staff. But can anyone install a second battery or does it need a qualified electrician to do it? I ask as I can get another 8.2kw battery for £2565 but to get one installed by a local dealer is £3300 or EON £3480. £700+ is a tad hard to swallow. The install guide suggests just 3 wires are needed and I have a mate who's a sparky who would assist me.
THALL Although it is easy to do, the real issue is in where the responsibility lies should any issue crop up due to installation error not being covered in the manufacturers warranty, we usually suggest you speak to your installation company regarding this to see if they are OK with this.
Adam-Reynolds Ok, is there an installation course an electrician would need to go on to install GE batteries? Is there an installation guide that I could show my electrician mate? I am assuming the process is to connect following whatever guide is available then contacting GE commissioning team to test the second battery?

Yes, once added he needs to call us to confirm. Please ensure your original installer is aware of this and is ok to accept responsibility for any issues as this does need to be wired into existing workmanship.
