Inverter Export Limitation

I believe my AC 3.0 inverter has EREC G100 export limitation capability built in. I know that this is not user configurable but is there a way that I can see if the functionality has been turned on and if so, display the parameters it has been set up with? When an AC coupled inverter and battery are added to an existing G83/G98 solar PV system is the default to configure the battery inverter so that PV plus battery export to the grid cannot exceed 16A/3680W? If this is done does it mean that G83/G98 continues to apply and you do not have to submit a G99 application to the DNO?

Ran a test on this and found that with my AC-3.0 inverter and 3.52kWp solar array I could export over 5kW to the grid.

I asked GivEnergy how I could get the total grid export limited to 3.68kW and they did this for me from their end, advising that an email to support@givenergy.co.ok was the best way to request such a change.

Has anyone had confirmation from their DNO that enabling the EREC G100 export limitation feature on the inverter meets the requirements for G83/G98 certification?

When my last 4.62kw with AC3 was installed a G99 had to be done and my total export limit was then capped to 3.68kw across both PV's and AC3. The installer just did all this for me. Because the battery system has the ability to export to the grid a G99 had to be done, total possible export from the new pv and batt came to 7.6kw. Total including the old pv made it 10kw in total. I am about to add an extra 3kw and no new G99 has to be done apparently. The new installer will set all the limits.

THALL That's interesting. As the DNO insisted on a 3.68kW export limit anyway I wonder if the application could, in retrospect, have been done under G98 or perhaps even not been necessary at all if you already had agreement for this figure from your existing system. Guess you don't know what the DNO will agree to until you ask!

Woodstock Indeed. I have friends who live all of 20 miles from me with 9kw systems and can export all 9kw. Plus the application can be challenged if the DNO set a limit you disagree with. But for me I'm not too bothered about the export, it would of been nice and would have offset charging the car even more but its fine. 6 months a year I will use it all, future storage maybe more.

Had a full battery and high solar PV generation yesterday so I decided to run another test to see if the turning on of EREC G100 export limitation by GivEnergy had taken effect. The results were spot on with maximum grid export hovering around 3.7kW, indicating that the requested 3.68kW limit was indeed now in place. Top marks to GivEnergy support for an accurate and speedy response.
