Solar charging

I’m obviously on a learning curve with the new system, and I’m sure this has been asked before:

If my solar is producing enough to run the house/charge battery, why does the app show dribbles coming from the grid (₂₀-50W) to the battery?. I know obviously that there is error in the app measurement and that there is always going to be small amounts in/out with inverter to allow for ramp up/down/keep things synced.. I also understand that it’s only a “snapshot” in time.

I’m presuming it’s that which is occurring…

Smk82 Yep, that's pretty much it. As you say, unless you're importing several kWh unexpectedly a few watts here and there are to be expected. My daily import sits around 0.1-0.2kWh per day and I frequently see small import/export values when charging or meeting demand

Think of it as them chatting/handshaking. I have the same but my meter does not seem to rise because of it.

It will usually be this for the most part. Plus any demand over what your inverter can supply will need to imported from the grid, so if you have a couple of high demand devices on at the same time (kettle, oven, immersion, toaster etc).
