Can the panels show as Idle and what causes that when the sun is out?

Yes I would like to know that as well, sounds like you are having same problem as me.

Well..............the only info I get about things being "idle" or whatever is for my inverter (AC3.0) - and that could indeed be idle if the house is absorbing all of the output of the panels, or if the battery is full and the solar output is going to the grid.
The only time it is "active" is when it is actively charging or discharging the batteries.

Mine is showing idle on the app even when the sun is out, my battery is at 4% and I have been importing from the grid and still am. Hybrid inverter 3.6 and had 8.2 battery installed yesterday.

Just the battery yesterday, panels have been up since April and have worked great but not now.

Try restarting the inverter from the portal.

I've only seen the panels as 'idle' (with the sun out) when the battery was in the forced discharge part of a calibration run.
