Hi,
Got a bit of an odd issue with the Home Consumption data in the mobile app. Solar is generating approx 2.18 kW but Home Consumption is apparently 2.11 kW, with 0.04 kW being supplied from the grid.
We don’t have anything running currently, just background stuff like router, fridge/freezer etc, so 2.11 kW doesn’t seem correct. Also my in home smart meter display is showing 0 kW usage from the grid currently.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

What is your setup? We have two AC3..0 inverters, each with a battery. We often see the charging power fron one battery included in the consumption. We also see high consumption if one system is discharging into the other.

Currently we’ve got the Hybrid 3.6kW Inverter hooked up to just the solar panels, as we are waiting for the cable to come in for our battery. So no battery in the equation currently. So the power can only come from either the solar or the grid.
On the app, it’s almost as if the sum of the energy being generated by the panels and the import from the grid is equalling the home consumption.

The CT Clamp (which senses the direction and magnitude of current flow from the grid) might be the wrong way round?

Yeah, that’s one thing we thought it could be as well but then there were times that the grid was showing higher export than the solar was generating which was really odd as well!
The positioning off the CT clamp is on the live cable isn’t it before it goes into the consumer unit?

jameswhit It should measure the load from/to the grid - with the arrow pointing into the house - ie grid import is a positive and export a negative.
Yes, on the live cable somewhere between meter and consumer unit. But if you've been showing high export at times then may not be that, and I've no more ideas! It's easy enough to unclip and turn round though, just to see what happens.
Actually, if it's the wrong way round and you were consuming more than the panels were generating then the amount shown as export is actually import...
Thank you! As currently we have nothing really on, no import from grid being shown on our smart meter in house display but apparently 1.25kW usage on the GivEnergy app. The app is also showing 0.15kW import from the grid.
With the current generation of 1.19kW ish the majority of that should be going back to the grid. I’ll switch it around and see how it looks then.

Had a bit of a thought about this earlier, the CT clamp is on a live cable but in our setup we have the smart meter with cables running from that into a Henley Block, then the solar inverter is connected into this Henley Block with the CU also connected into this.
Therefore I realised the CT Clamp was on a live wire and set the correct way around but it was sat on the feed to the CU from the Henley Block, rather than on the live wire between the Grid Smart Meter and the Henley Block itself. I’ve shifted it to this wire, so will see if this changes anything…

It should. It should be measuring everything going into the block. It's a worry that installers don't get these basics right.
It's been setup that way the last couple of days and the grid consumption is pretty much bang on with what it's showing in the Bright app, so it's all good now!
