Battery not discharging full potential.

I’ve notice that sometimes the battery doesn’t always discharge its full potential discharge rate.
For example the home demand was around 2.2kWh, PV was providing 0.4kWh so you’d assume the battery would make up the rest. But it didn’t. It only gave out around 1.2kWh and the grid had to make up the rest.

Any known reason for this? It doesn’t always happen. I’ve seen the battery discharge up to 3.0kWh

feidhlim If you've seen the battery discharge at 3kW, then it doesn't sound like there's an issue with either the battery or inverter. The app and portal are good for providing information but they both suffer a time lag.

The worst day for grid import for us is always Thursday which is ironing day. I've got the app and portal and I've got the Bright app and IHD which have a 6 second refresh rate. It doesn't matter what I look at, I can hear the iron stat click in to heat the water for maybe ten seconds, but I rarely see it on any of the apps/portal. By the time the inverters are responding to the increase in load, it's disappeared, forcing a grid export until they ramp down.

I think that what you are seeing is a snapshot that's not reflecting reality; give it a few seconds and look again. The inverters respond quickly to changes in load but struggle with continuous change.

Tim Thanks Tim. Your explanation makes sense. This wasn’t a sustained load either, I was checking how much a new coffee maker was pulling so it was a brief load. When I have something like the oven on and it’s a sustained load more than a few minutes I don’t recall seeing a problem.
